Howat or Hyde

The day that Howat or Hyde deserves a spot on our list before JON is the day that I lose all faith in our footy department.
He has talent and improvement, they don't

Howat has improvement and he has shown 10 times more than jon has in his senior appearances. I'm not sure what has happened to Hyde. I was impressed with his previous 2 years. He didnt play poorly this year, but below par. I would keep both players and get rid of Hartigan and Krakouer. Hyde's form has suffered a bit due to playing in a very inexpierenced team this year and he is still quite young and learning himself. I think his evasive skills and goal kicking will be on display again with our more experienced team playing better footy. He has just struggled to get alot of the footy this year. I'm sure if he was 2 years older he would have been playing better due to more experience this year

JON is a developing 19 year old with a lot of growing to do and was a top 10 pick.
Cam Howat is fully grown and developed as much as he will, yet isn't half as courages as the kid.

another moot point. It might sound harsh, but the tigers need to get back to being ruthless. Fair enough about the clash, although i for one saw nothing to be enthused about before it, except for a couple of cameos, that stood out like beacons, so the tiger heads started talking elite, but why is he still on the list when he has never been the same?
Not to mention that I was watching the burgers on sunday and my son has bigger biceps than him and hyde gets paid to work out FFS.
We are talking about a guy that has been in the system for how long? the cats players looked like robots with muscles, even their kids, hyde looked like muppet arms fiora.

saying howat 'finds the ball' is a little misleading, it's more he runs off his opponent to stand by himself on the wing and collects it off half back. his runs down the wing look nice and all but it all comes undone when his kick n' hope passes come flying back past him and his direct opponent sets up a goal down the other end.
hyde at times looks like he's going to come good and be a real asset but just as quickly goes missing for ages having no impact at all on the game. removing either or both of them really won't effect us much at all going forward imo.

Hyde is ahead of Howat, but only really for depth purposes.

Hyde is contracted for next year, so unless the Tiges want to come up with some cash to pay him out he will be there.

The other story is that Hyde missed most of the pre season with OP, and may still have been suffering the effects during the season. You will remember that Wallace played him in the first pre season match against Geelong and he was well underdone, and had played most of the game, so Wallace may well think he can play.

If he gets a good pre season under his belt there is no reason why he cannot be one of the better goal kicking wingmen going around in my opinion.

sober up DW, run into space , work hard to create options, give it off and run 100 yards downfield to get it again...thats what Im talking of pal...Tambling has the tools to do it , yet we rarely see it

why the hell are you pressing on about tambling, the thread title's pretty clear I thought. yes creating an option is good, but when you're HOWAT and your entire game consist of waiting for someone to kick the ball to you out on your own, you're not really contributing or displaying anything that any other player in the league couldn't do if they didn't bother about their opponent.

he may be able to work on those aspects of his game, it may surpise a few but they can be taught....

IWe could get rid of all 4 and it wouldn't hurt us too much. Despite a very poor year, Krak is the best of those four but hasn't quite taken the extra step that we needed him to take.

this time of year where some tough decisions need to be made on the list. There will be a couple of fellas that will be lucky to remain just to add depth whilst they play for virtual peanuts. Here is a great example of two players at similar levels. Perhaps Hyde is ahead silghtly. Who would we take, does Howat have any upside. I worry about his contested work, reads the play well and can run into space . Fow mine needs to add a trick or two if he is to remain. Id give Howat the nod at this point, yough on Hydey however he's maxed out and when you come bottom we need momentum with a stack of players that have a stack of improvem,ent left in the tank
