I'll need to learn how to use Illustrator then... :(
I guarantee it will be one of the greatest things you will ever learn. Well worth it.

Why don't the people who are good with AI do their designs with it. While the people with PS do their designs with PS.
Because the Ps isn't a vector.

Because it has to be all uniform and in the same format so we can keep it neat.

And great experience for a potential job in graphic design!

I really don't know AI that much i'm more of a PS kind of guy

So am I, so is craegus, so are a lot of people on this board. But Ai is a much better program to use for this project and graphic design in general.

If you want to get rid of all the random formatting that comes from pages like wikipedia, I'd suggest pasting it into a .txt file first and the copy and pasting it on to here.

Ok I will do

I'd love to jump in on this if someone shouts me Ai CS6. Or something a tad superior to version 8.

You should be able to do pretty much the same thing in Inkscape, which is free. Ask pie_machine for some tips (here's the thread I was talking about pie)

All sounds good chaps :)

One thing I'd like to see, and a unique aspect of soccer uniform 'culture', is an account of the slight variations that come with interchangable kit elements and when they were worn/who against - eg Well Nix with white socks at Melbourne Victory. There have been a lot over the years, but some have produced really nice looking combinations (Heart's sash with red shorts springs to mind).

I found some old images from days gone by.
Here's the difference between Paint and Illustrator.
Photoshop is not Paint, by a long stretch, but it's not Illustrator either.
