1) CHF

Give Hartlett a 30 minute hamstring/back rubdown 2 training session a week and before each game.

Get him doing 5 80 metre sprints before every training session and tell him we know what he can do and we are providing the confidence for him to do it. He is atleast as good as Tredrea.

2) Put Austin at CHB and leave him there whilst challenging him to pump the benchpress and nothing else along with his current training.

3) Play Walker as our CENTREMAN.

4) Don't rest Kruezer from the ruck unless he looks absolutely knackered.

5) Offer Fev 2.3 mill for 3 years with a promise of a further 2 year extended contract IF he's up to it.

6) Put Murphy in a BP and leave Gibbs as Ruck Rover.

7) Don't drop Setanta.

FB: Jamison Setanta Murphy

CHB: Bower Austin Grigg

C: Stevens Walker Armfield

CHF: Waite Hartlett Simpson

FF: Fisher Fevola Betts

R: Kruezer, Gibbs, Judd.

int: Russell, Houlihan, Cloke, Hampson, Scotland, Hadlee, Wiggins, etc....

C: Stevens Murphy Armfield
CHF: Wiggins Waite Simpson
FF: Fisher Fevola Betts

I like it. Murphy in the back pocket is one from left field. Reasoning behind that?

I think it's because Gibbs is an awesome midfielder, and Murphy racks up the ball like nobody's business. He wouldn't be there for the defensive part, he'd just run away with the ball.

We'd play a 7 man defence and a 5 man forward line. Which is what we should be doing now anyway.

Why move Murphy to BP????

That is riduculous IMO

Because we have better midfielders.

ie; Judd, Walker, Gibbs, Stevens (can't teach an old dog new tricks). Armfield & Simpson have better pace and aggression moving the ball into the forward line. Scotland cannot play in a back pocket.

He could change with Gibbs in the back pocket making us a very strong outfit. Would still get 25-30 minutes on the ball a week to push back into the midfield.

Sounds kinda old fashioned doesn't it?

right?

and you think Murphy will love playing in the BP? He will lose interest very fast and should be played in the midfield IMO.

His accountability isn't good enough unless he plays the goddard/fisher role which he can't because his skills aren't good enough.

Massive waist of time putting him down back when someone else could actually do defensive job instead of being put down there because he can't play where he should.

Would never bother with putting him down back:thumbsd:

Exactly, while his direct opponent is wondering WTF is going on.

Both Waite and Simpson could roam up the ground.

I'm certain my structure could work because most coaches seem to change their's every ####ing week.

We've got the best list in the comp, we now need to realise it and start to be more aggressive...

Do we need a Pagan plan(ie: Long kicking)??? No.

Do we need a Ratt's plan(ie: short kicking, possession) ??? No.

Do we need to kick to Fevola more or less????? Who gives a .... Just kick it to him.

We need to play our best talent in their best positions on their best side of the ground next to the teammates which will produce their best winning chemistry.

So you think Waite at HFF is a good idea??

Mate it isn't that simple, you can't just put the best in each position. There are match ups and counter strategies involved and changing the whole structure won't solve these.

Also playing an unknown at CHB isn't the best option.

And Geelong's list is alright but i guess your a little bias.

IMO our list is the best in the league Potentially.

Collingwood's unknown CHB is developling quite nicely. I believe Austin is better.

Who cares about "matchups" and "strategies".

Play your best players and let the opposition be paranoid about such things.

Waite at HFF drifting up to the wing or into the Centre is a superb idea.

The structure is sound when all the players aforementioned are fit and available.

wildcards/unknowns:

Aisake, Benjamin, Ellard, Joseph. All very capable of being super AFL players.

Edwards also a smokey for a medium/tall forward.:thumbsu:
