I know its one game, but is this finally the END of Guy Richards???

I don't think you'll ever see Richards crumb of the side of the pack for a shot on goal. Sure he slammed it through for a behind, but he was in the right spot and showed the mobility to get the pill, and from where I was sitting it looks great. He is a much better prospect for our side than Richards.

you are an idiot what we want is for richards to regain some form going back to the 2's so we have 3 options or lets just burn him on the steak you clown
Good call Toomster. What is wrong with Bryan and Richards being available? Maybe Bryan might have bullied Lade last week, maybe not, the point is 2 ruckmen just don't cut it in this day and age where you have talls like Goodes, Cox, etc cruising the field. I say keep em both until one either totally dominates or they both gain the experience required. Bryan was a stalwart in the first half and notice Fraser seemed fresher in the second half, especially the last 1/4? All it takes is one ACL and it is back to Fraser carrying the can. Good coaching MM.

I've seen him kick that goal. A sealer against Adelaide at the dome in 2004. He gained the Rising Star nomination for that good game.

yeah Bryan was good his hard at the ball and has a good long kick. Bryan will give Frase more of a go in the forwards with Bryan doing the same also. I forgot who he tackled but he got a free kick for it. At least Bryan has grunt about him. Richards get set to pack you're bags son.

Bryan definitely looked good in the side thats for sure. I think I'll wait until he goes up against some top notch ruckmen as I don't think the Bombers had their best on show on Wednesday. Hille was a major loss for them. Bryan definitely seems to give us more around the ground as well. Richards needs to have a major impact at Willy to get another go or an injury. Either way he hasn't shown much when the club backed him so he'll probably find himself moving on unless the club only takes the one ruckman in the draft (which means Richards will remain on the list as a back up). The guy must be pretty disappointed as surely he must see the signs.

Yet we're all raving about Bryan who beat Ryder and Laycock.
That is a measure how where we are with rucks – as is the fact that I would take a 2002 McKee back tomorrow and as you are probably aware I was always a McKee critic. I now realise that as sub standard as he was, MM isn’t likely to get any serious quality tap ruckman to Collingwood and MM is here for some time to come.

Chris Byran is probably the best 'hack' in the AFL...:thumbsu:

You know what? .... he might not be a 'hack' at all. Carlton people didn't want him because he was "lazy" so they only offered a 1 year deal instead of 2 like he wanted. There was nothing about his football ability just his aptitude.

Check out this wonderful interview.

He said his relationship with Fraser is developing, and he looks forward to working with the tall Magpie for the rest of the season.
"It's been really good with Josh. We seem to have a kind of connection there, changing forward and into the ruck, and we give each other a bit of a wink or something," he said.
"We'll rotate hopefully over the rest of this season and over the next few years get a good relationship going."

Welcome aboard Chris!!!! :thumbsu: :thumbsu:

I don't think that your replacement getting 10 touches, and 12 hitouts is the end of your career. I was happy enough with Bryan's debut but he has a long way to go.

Bryan played well very good debut by the man on a big day, but we should not get rid of richards unless we can find a person to take his thrid ruckman position even then i would consider keeping him nothing wrong with having four ruckman.

Guys just remeber in 2004 before Guy first got injured he was playing rather well (i think he won best first year player after 10 games thant year i know it was his second or third year on the list), he never got right after that and his form never came back, give him a chance to get confidence, he'll be a good number three ruckman behind Fraser and Bryan, as i believe Bryan is a better number 2, actaully Bryan may give a better contest around the ground than Fraser albeit he gets less possesions.
