Did anyone hear Ian Wilson on SEN the other morning? It was absolute gold! Two comments he made stood out in particular. The first was when he was asked to describe the personality of the richmond footy club to which he answered " I dont know about now but it used to be supporters, members, sponsors. Everyone else can go and get stuffed!"
The second was at the end of the interview when he used one of Graham Richmond's quotes "you cant make strawberry jam out of shit" when referring to the current playing situation. Loved it!

i didnt enjoy it too much at all, sounded like he was fairly clueless on whats happening at punt Rd circa 2009...much like the latter period of his presidency and the last remark was just crass, and for anyone to say that of the tigers can go and get ****ed as far as Im concerned , I dont care who the **** is...anyway thats my two bobs worth

Our admin got too cocky and we've been paying for it ever since.

Spoke to Maurice a few years ago and he pretty much thought Wilson was the reason for Richmonds down fall, and one of the reason he wanted to leave.

The mentality that worked in the seventies crippled us in the eighties.

GR and Ian Wilson really did lose it in the end. Geting back at Collingwood via Peart,Lovett,Brewer,Walsh and later Hyrsolakis and Bayliss (after thier time but those names get a laugh) really showed them.

I dont know if success stories like Landy,Malthouse and interstate recruits like Hart and Roach made us forget bringing up players through the u19s and reservers like Hawthorn did so successfully. Our Landys and Harts through the eighties were Noel Mugavin and Tim Gepp.

well we crumbled like the ****en roman empire partner and the beginning of that was under his stewardship...GRs intractable singlemindedness may have been well and good in the 70s , come the 80s we needed a little more vision and forward thinking..unfortunatley the rest is history...read how Rainsey was riled over being paid a pittance of what rioli was lured over on and so on..
