My brothers mates signed up a team to play T20 winter cricket in Sydney about 4 years ago. They withdrew from the comp after one match. Not sure who thought it would be a good idea to stand around in the slips for 20 overs, freezing your arse off only moving to chase the occasional ball and between overs, copping the ocean wind chill and then suddenly have to take a catch with fingers that are about as brittle as glass.

Worst idea ever.

Yeah I suppose they do that up North with ingenious leagues, but we don't pay a heap of retired stars a load of cash to run around on dirt in the heat.
