You mean against bulldogs in 2016?

He did it late in the home and away season against Hawthorn. Ceglar did his in the same game.

We went into that final against the Bulldogs with Giles and a lame Lycett in the ruck. And Mitch Brown in the forward pocket as backup in case Lycett didn’t make it through the game. Why not just play Giles and Brown and an extra running player if you’re worried about Lycett not getting through? That’s a damn good question.

Did I really read that the MCG grand final agreement may get a two year extension because this years grand final will be played outside of Melbourne?
yeah plus extra games in melb next year i heard to make up for this yr.

dunno how

I thought why not just make bris and GC play a home game in Vic each year for a few years

VaFL'd it for ya

But then who would replace Brown in the forward pocket?

Duggan, Redden and Nelson were our emergencies for that game. I know none of them are specialist forwards, but I’d have played any one of them over the third ruckman.

There is a big commercial risk if they play another 17 game season next year or move teams home games. A seated membership is based on 11 games at home, reduce that and the members will expect a proportional reduction in cost. The bind with moving home games is that the large clubs who can afford it, also have the most revenue to lose in absolute $ terms. The minnow clubs with low member numbers are too poor to afford any loss of revenue. Not an easy solution.

Isn’t it funny how Victoria can fu** up the whole AFL season by ignoring rules put in place to protect the community, and still get rewarded next year for it? The VFL is alive and well.

Don’t do the divide and conquer thing mate - that’s what the media wants you to do.

Victorians are no worse behaved than West Australians. You have to be perfect with this thing and we’re paying for the mistakes of the very few here in Vic.

I’ve noticed a few breaches of rules in WA recently, and that is just what is caught and made public. And you guys almost have all your freedoms back, compared to us who are much more restricted.

If that is the case, then to ensure the integrity of the competition WA teams should have extra home games next year as well...

That will never happen though.

I'm starting to be of the opinion that in 2021 there will be another set of fixture compression, resulting in the season becoming 24 or 25 matches prior to finals.

I also expect that if this compression were to occur, the matches during that period would be played in Melbourne and overwhelmingly at the MCG.

They should give WC and Freo all 22 games at home for the year to help prop the AFL up

At whose home? AFL's Vic home or WCE/Freo's home? It'd be fair for 10/18ths of comp if WCE/Dockers play all games at 'the spiritual home of football' (as Vics love to say). How can any logical person argue against that?

:) :) :)

That's true, but also Daniel Andrews half-assed the hotel quarantine system.
My friend who arrived from the US into Sydney was escorted by the military.

I assume Dan Andrews didn't want to share any credit with a Liberal Federal govt for being a corona hero rockstar premier like McGowan is now.

I know people who have arrived in Sydney. ADF on the bus with a police escort for the bus to the hotel. Checked 4 times a day for health etc while in quarentine.
