would we want him??
take him back with open arms??
would Bucks want him??
is Harv's doing a better job with the mid's anyway??

i'd personally love the guy back + the way things are going at Melb i can't see him being there for too much longer..

wondering everyones thoughts on this one

Would Bucks have him back is the real question, and we can always appoint another assistant, that's not an issue.

Mick may keep him at Melbourne next year....

If he does get sacked by us I do hope you guys pick him back up without too much hard feelings, and if it happens I'm not giving another cent to Melbourne because it would be a completely weak dog act and failure to do the right thing sticking with a good man. I reckon he's a champion so hope one way or another he will be in footy for a long time to come.

Certainly hope they stick with him, but the way they're playing i don't know how much longer that can go on for..

Was just wondering if things didn't work out at Demon-land if there would be any chance of a return??

i think the guys a brilliant line coach, maybe not Senior coach though!

Stev from what I hear - and that's by no means inside info - there are a hard core of lazy senior players and disgruntled staffers determined to oppose him at every turn.

He simply isn't getting a fair go.

Emilio Estevez got a season with a dispirited ice hockey team; I don't see how Neeld can't be afforded the same luxury.

Thought it was really harsh of Kennelly to suggest Stynes would be turning in his grave. What a crap thing to say, and to exploit a situation like that just to try and make a point is what Stynes would really be upset about.

Absolute joke.

Neeld will get it going, just not soon, and not with the mature-aged players in the team they have. Post-season shake-up will be on the cards.

No way he will be sacked, the Melbourne list is a joke what did everyone expect, maybe not this bad but not much better i had them winless after round 8.

You mean in 2015?

This post was glossed over but it could be closer to the truth than we think.

Mick in a similar role to bomber Thompson at the dons. I reckon that is the real key to their success, not hird imo.

Dees would save face not sacking neeld but would neeld agree to take a backward step.I suppose that or get sacked.

Thinking about it as i type, mick would actually be perfect at Dees with their young list and a complete clean out of the deadwood.

However, we are not here to help the Dees so i will leave it at that.

The move was the focus of enormous speculation only a few months ago.
Mick said only the other day that he was "mentoring" to Neeld right now.

I would find it odd if he was not truth be known.

Can't believe anyone is talking of sacking him, ffs give the guy a chance. he has taken over a basket case team and club and it will take time

So much hate for the guy around

Here, here. There is absolutely no way in hell Neeld will get sacked. People who say he might obviously don't 'get' football.

He walked into a bigger mess than first conveyed to him. He started with a hard edge and some media idiots asked 'where the positive outlook?' If they were thinking that, then obviously some players and staff would be thinking the same thing.
He walked into the Western Jets with the same attitude and developed a hard edged side. There were boys in there who were previously 'untouchable' but Neeld wasn't buying that. He even made moves to increase the accountability of the GM. More info through PM's if you're interested.
He's right for Melbourne, the sooks just have to realise that.

Couldn't agree more, but I still stand by my previous post.

Word perfect.

He will not get sacked. Melbourne wouldn't even be considering it. People who speculate about a new coach of a basket case getting sacked two month into the job don't really have much of an idea.

Secondly, he wouldn't come back to Collingwood even if he did. He has done the Collingwood thing, and taken all he can from the club. He would want to go somewhere else under a different coach and a different team with different problems so he can grow. He wouldn't coach under Bucks, who he outranked while at Collingwood.

Neeld doesn't seem to be Melbourne's problem, more like the players. I'm guessing he'll be there for at least one more year and at the end of this one, expect a very big clean-out.

Free agency starts this year so they could be throwing whatever cash they have at players (which could be freed up by decent players leaving as well as by offloading duds) to get a more reasonable list together.

People are asking "who would want to go there?" but Mitch Clark did and he's doing well, and if GWS can get people to move to that shit-hole then surely Melbourne can entice a few more players over with the promise of getting a fair list together. Average players that stay there may start showing more if there's signs of getting better.

I can't see Neeld going anywhere for some time, and also couldn't see Mick taking his job as they are good mates.

wasnt there an 'issue' at the Pies with Neeld talking to the Dees about strategies etc during our last finals campaign.
I remember reading something that MM and others weren't happy, and that the AFL were looking at bringing in a 'can't poach a coach during finals' rule.
