Surely the aim of leetspeak is to reduce the number of characters, and thus the effort involved. "know" requires twice the effort that "no" does.

But sometimes people add extra characters to certain words to make their post longer and make it so they look smart.

Whilst sadly this is a reflection of society in general, why do people have so much trouble with apostrophes on here? You use an apostrophe to indicate possession or an omission of letters. The exception to the rule is that when giving possession to the word 'it', you don't use one. How hard is that to remember? The many random placements of apostrophes do my head in.

Another pet hate is people who type in a single, un-punctuated, mis-spelt, un-caps locked paragraph of about 15 lines.
