Robin Nahas. I know he polarises a few here, but, tonight he showed why he's worth the perserverance. He was put out of the game for the first half ala WCE game. But, he was able to work his way into the game and have a meaningful impact. We needed a small to stand up, and he did. So kudos to you Robin, when it mattered most, you were one of the most influentual blokes out there.:thumbsu:

Would take Nahas over a lot of other small forwards...... great game tonight :thumbsu:

I thought all of our small forwards (King, Maric, Nahas and Edwards) stood up when needed tonight and did their bit for the team.

I know he can be inconsistent but oen One word always comes to mind when I think of nahas..C O U R A G E...honestly has a little bloke ever gone at the pill so hard, he wears alot of hits, heavy ones too, ALWAYS bounces up..i take my hat off to him...If we make finals guys like this are very much a factor

He gets a terrible rap here- was great tonight and has been very good all season. Almost all the sterotypes about him are wrong. He is consistent, a good user of the ball and hard at it.

There was a lot of talk about the Milera/Saad combination complementing Milne coming in to this game, and I put it out there that Edwards/Nahas should be given just as much credence. Edwards first half and Nahas second half were major factors in the win.

Well said Capt'n :thumbsu:

Was about to say just that. Surprisingly hard at the contest unlike a lot of small fwds in the comp. The way he got straight up after that Saints player landed on his head too, gee that must've hurt.

Good game Robbie. :thumbsu:

Agreed, Edwards improvement since the Dreamtime match has been a sensation !!!

Easily in our best team and our best small forward. Until Edwards can consistently outperform him at least and forget about Jake King. Not sure why there's been so many calls to drop him over the last couple months.

People like to jump on the Nahas, Edwards, Jackson type. Nahas was bloody good AGAIN tonight. He is superfit and will double his goal tall in the last 6-8 rounds. A class above Milera and Saad no doubt about it

Don't lump Nahas with Jackson.

Sensational in the 3rd term

Agree with this. :thumbsu:

But For me this comment also kind of sums him up as a player..

Don't want to be overly negative but he doesn't perform consistently, both in consecutive games or even quarters.

When he produces a third quarter like against the Saints his positives outweigh his non-contribution from the first half.

But say in finals, can we afford to carry those non-contributive quarters in the hope of a special one?

But isn't that kind of the nature of the role he plays? I thought he kept us in it in the third - he was super important anyways. I loved it when he handpassed backwards to martin for a goal- it was like a little kid playing out of his age group passing backwards to a bigger kid to goal.

I put my hand up as being overly critical of nahas. But he is constantly playing more and more good games of footy.

Ive come to the realisation (however late it is) that he has limitations but so do plenty of players in the AFL, he has his ups and downs makes the odd error but so do plenty of players in the AFL.

Im aboard the Nahas bandwagon after the game against the saints - 2nd best afield after Riewoldt for mine.

A toast to Robin!!! :thumbsu:

no prob.s with any of our smalls after last night. Nahas been good for a long time, eddie good for a couple of weeks and kingy effective too w/out having a shedload of stats

I think hes been a bit down this season compared to last, same can be said of most of the forwards though really. Hasn't played as much midfield but i guess thats a symptom of having lids move in there and the full 3 star rotation we have going on through the forward line.

I've always been a fan of him i used to be friendly with him an he told me at the end of 2009 (when he was dropped for a few games in a row) the coaches had told him that he was to good to not be playing and he had to lift his fitness and intensity, he did that last year and i think hes pretty highly rated internally.

If he can kick 30-35+ a year that's more than enough from a small forward in my mind.

Love Robbie and the way he goes about it. Can be slightly frustrating below his knees as he often needs a few paddles before gaining possession but always goes in hard. Easily best 22 and will be for a long while yet
