Well i've just about had to take back everything i've said this season...

especially critising Hille when he was acting captain a few years back.
Back then i didn't see him as a great player or leader.
Well im wrong and i now fully endorse hille to be a possible future leader at the club:)

Well you're a fool. I've liked this guy from day one and never said a bad word about him. Always felt confident about him and definitely is the only player i can think of who could rival McVeigh for the next captaincy. Just a good, reliable, big bodied player who carved up Cox last night. :thumbsu:

It's very easy to jump on a bandwagon when the player in question is playing well.
I'm not saying that's what's happening here but it feels good when a player I've backed turns up and dominates the best Ruckman in the competition. He's been consistent all year and deserves his praises.

Many people are a bit too quick to dismiss players when they're out of form. Classic example with Matthew Lloyd. Superstar and still is.

But I won't back down on my strong stance concerning Lazycock and CJ.
Give Laycock a go, how many ruckmen in the AFL can actually take a mark, be mobile and kick effectively... not many. Laycock is just slow, if we got rid of him there would not be anyone else to fill the breach.

Hille has been brilliant, doubt if he goes past mcveigh but certainly, become consistent and reliable.:thumbsu: One of the shining lights this year.

Just curious as to why you didn't rate him as a leader while he was the stand-in captain. I thought he rose to the challenge, played very well and led by example.

Hille has been one of my faves for years. Sits mid range at best in hitouts but around the ground and up forward is as good as or better than all except Cox.
BTW this year he has belted three of probably the top 4 ruckmen in the comp in McIntosh, Cox and Simmons.

It was just too early for him to be named captain, too inconsistent and it still amazes me that Scott Lucas wasn't the obvious choice- a great player year in and out. Hille must have been surprised himself and it certainly didn't help his form.

But he was great on Friday hopefully more to come

hilles a dill, layzycock is still a ____,time to move on! get some good ruckmen at Essendon, big deal they had one good game between them in 5 years, bring back John Barnes for god sakes!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsu:

HILLE FOR AA. There, I said it. Another brilliant game today, cant think of many ruckmen that have been better.

Going by his last two games he'd have to get a gig. He is absolutely killing it! Loving the big guys work. I'd like to see a stat on how many clearances he created through his tap work, which, for mine, has always been his weakest point. If he can keep up this sort of form, and the big chook can pull his finger out, we could really cause some damage in the last half of the season.

Go Bombers!
