If we were allowed to pick 5 types of players to fill requirements in the side, rather than the lottery of our picks, what types of players do you think we require.

My thoughts are:

1. A quick 180cm. goalkicking midfielder. We already have an abundance of big-bodied midfielder's. Need an injection of pace with an ability to kick goals as well (ala Riccardi).

2. Small/medium defender. With Sando gone, Callan injury prone and Wojo coming back from a knee another of this type of player is a high priority. Josh need's some assistance.

3. A young developing ruckman. King and Otto will probably finish around the same time, also both are injury prone. Need someone developing to assist Blake. Can't keep destroying Mooney.

4. 187cm. versatile utility. Yes you guessed it. Someone to take Dasher's place in 3 or 4 year's time. Versatile backman who can go mid or forward if required.

5. Small/medium goalkicking forward. With Thurley and Haynes gone definate requirement here. Will allow GAJ and Chappy more flexability in time. Left- footer would add nice variety.

Tick or cross ?

1, Varcoe at 179 , been descibed as being like Davey so , Tick

2 West , a young developing ruckman , Tick

3 Small defender , cross

4 at 187 , is gamble your utility ?, more of a forward but id say 50/50

5 , Stokes , Tick

Well done Wellsy. Got our goalkicking midfielder in Varcoe.

Young developing ruckman in West.

Medium goalkicking forward in Owen.

Another versatile midfielder in Gamble.

Stokes is apparently very versatile and able to go back as well as mid/fwd. Maybe half a small defender.

Probably not a Dasher type available but overall very happy with Wellsy's effort.

Particularly "stoked" with our first two picks as were just what was required. When listening to the draft i was hoping for either Varcoe or (Michelle) Pfeiffer but was hoping for Varcoe's pace factor. Extremely pleased with West as i thought he would have gone earlier.

The other 3 are probably a "gamble" but if we get one pretty handy one will be happy.

P.S. Sorry about the puns. Just fell into place as i was typing.
