Without a doubt Stevens!

Sure he can still take a nice contested grab but besides that he's not doing a lot more at the moment.

Reckon we'd be too tall if it was Bock for Mackay, especially against the Bombers who are pretty quick.

The Old Craig, take your pick out of Davis, Walker or Henderson.

The New Craig, ???

Will be illuminating. I hope there isn't a mid-week injury to save the match committee a tough call. I'm really interested to see what they decide.

Stevens.

Is looking slow in action and mind.

I am starting to think that IF we lose Bock to the GC, no big deal. Davis/Otten can handle the role, and they are our future.

as far as my dreamteam is concerned (an i only have 1 trade left...), Henderson

but my head says Stevo..

I don't even subscribe to him being a nice grab, he only takes contested marks against midfielders or teenage KPF's, or he takes uncontested marks floating across with no opponent.

In the past you could bet bottom dollar that'd it'd be one of Davis, Henderson or Walker, but I'm not so certain, reckon they might actually give Stevens the flick. As much as he does some good things, he's just getting involved in way too many costly turnovers.

I'll have to look closely at the replay, because at the game I thought Stevens was a valuable player--apart from a couple of early clangers. He had 3 for the game and Walker a game-high 6. I know stats aren't everything, but Stevo had 21 possessions.
It is interesting that Craig came out and said this was Walker's best game. Apart from two late goals my impression was that he was poor and occasionally shirked contests.
Who comes out for Bock? Difficult choice, and ain't it grand to have a hard choice to make.

It's hard to believe there is much debate about this, given where our season is at (though I'm sure the club sees it very differently!)

Every game Davis and Henderson get is absolute gold for next season from guys who almost certainly will play most of 2011. Not to mention their performance has been up to standard.

That leaves Walker...and to suggest Stevens is a better forward option than Walker is ridiculous.

It doesn't matter that Stevens had a good 2nd half...in total his game wasn't terrible and wasn't great (given the team dominated the game). But why shouldn't a player get dropped after an ok game for a better player? Stevens should be admired as a greta team man who has courageously got the most out of himself but Henderson, Walker and Davis are all potentially high-class players and thus outrank an average player.

don't defend him he played on Bate who had a 4 goal game in a losing side. teams exploit Stevens for his mobility and pace. he gives away stupid free kicks EVERY WEEK, he should be playing well at the age of almost 30? but he isn't, Davis is outperforming him in his second year. determination can only get you so far with no talent and in a dominant team of 05/06 he was important but its been downhill from there, and especially now in a 15th placed team keeping a spud like Stevens is just pointless. Walker at least created something up forward all game with his clever handballs, evasion, etc, and got a deserved 2 goals in the end. i laugh every time Stevens gets a shot 50 out and thinks he can make the distance, falls short every time.

I think Stevens probably needs a spell in the SANFL, not sure it would happen though.

I would have thought Armstrong would be another in danger of losing the spot to Bock (though I'd hope not).

Those clangers include free kicks. Walker game away a few cheap frees off the ball that didnt really have an impact on the game. Walker is bound to make more clangers given the position he plays. He is a Key foward who has someone hanging off him all day and when he plays up around half forward he is often in congestion. Stevens certainly doesnt have anyone hanging off him.
