The bottom line is - quality footballers play 3 good games out of 4. And in quality sides, when that quality player has a bad week, the rest take up the slack. At NM, we have a lot of players who can only manage 1-2 good games out of 4, and we don't have the depth of quality to cover that player in the other 2-3 games.
The MAIN thing that separates very good footballers from average footballers is CONSISTENCY. And that applies to most sports - being able to reproduce quality on a regular basis. And until you can achieve that, you're pushing shlt up Mt Everest with a rubber tooth-pick.

we obviously have zero intention of going deep into September as we have zero ambition to finish top 4. I suspect we are just aiming to make the finals and win one final. Then we know we are improving and on 'the right track'. It is a master plan with guaranteed success in 2017 when the players decide they'll have a crack at the flag.

It is sickening. A career flashes past you in a blink of a brown eye. These guys are capable of good football but for what ever reason aren't capable of producing it week in week out. The time to win the Peemiership is now but the players just don't get it. Why?

The frustrating thing is that the players have demonstrated they can perform against decent opposition this year and away from home where previously this would be a pipe dream.

Why can't we bury shit to average sides over 4 quarters? Why do we have to have a season on the line or be 7 goals down before the team decides to extract the digit?

Players must look at the ladder and think 'we've got an easy draw we'll make the 8 so nothing to worry about'

Sometimes they're incosnsistent and sometimes they're not.
