Increased Popularity/Server Busy - Pigs Ar$e

A total of 17 users online and the frigging most annoying pop-up advertisement of all comes up. It's as bad and as annoying as spam IMO.

You know it - due to increased popularity...server busy..upgrade to a membership message & try again later.

I don't have an issue with someone wanting to make a quid, but I do when they're dishonest and try pulling a shifty move - especially when there's so many young BF users who no doubt get conned into signing up.

Very tempted to alert these dodgy business practices to the ACCC or Consumer Affairs.

If you want to charge for a service, fine, but be honest, upfront and open about it. If there were a hint of transparency or trust - I'm sure I (and many others would have paid up by now).

By the way - most users ever online was 1,117 (yep - 1,100 more than this morning), only a few weeks ago.

We were told that if enough members signed up they'd be able to afford their own server. I wonder when or if thats eventuating, or if it's being pocketed.

Its not like saying anything helps, it just riles up the wrong people.

Privately owned, so unless it affects the owners directly, they aint gonna give it undivided attention.

Dear Adrian,

Rather than the incessant "Server Busy" messages, maybe you can take a page from Microsoft's book and allow free registration for a certain trial period after which you need to pay to continue to post under that name.

I mean, making us pay for our internet persona's is about the only recruitment "method" untried.

Sure you'll still get tightasses like me who wont pay, but eventually they'll get tired of registering new names every couple of weeks and either pony up the cash or bugger off into cyberspace for good......

Purps, I have in fact offered to do same, if there was a way to do it without using Credit Card or PayPal as I never put any details like that into a computer.

If there was a local mailing address I'd have made my donation ages ago.
