The first 2 hours are incredible, it's basically just one long cutscene telling you the story.

Not really a spoiler but I'll hide it in case people get sensitive.

the lack of smoke vents frustrates me incredibly. I find more steam vents than smoke vents and that's pretty much the only way to get energy. With Infamous 1 and 2 you had electricity everywhere to charge, now it could take you 2 minutes to find a smoke vent.

Picked my special edition up, will wear beanie to work/footy because its not covered in game logos :thumbsu:.

Is the patch day 1? Only ask because I've left the PS4 on whilst I do stuff around the house so hopefully its downloading and updating.

Just got the second power. God damn this game is fun.
I think that's the perfect word to describe the game, fun. So many games recently have gone down the dour, sad, heavy hearted storyline route. But this one just chucks a bunch of fun powers and situations at you and just says "HAVE FUN!".

Also extremely hard to believe that the lead played Joel in Last of Us, just so completely different.

Yes, but you'll need to start up the disc/game in order to get the patch to activate.

Talking about the previous games, does anyone have any idea how to play the Cole's Legacy DLC missions? There's no main menu so no way to access the DLC. I assume it's possibly something you get given the option to do after the main story, but I wouldn't think they'd lock it away behind that surely?

I really would like to get the DLC out of the way before continuing too far in.

From another forum:

I got the limited edition and entered the code. Then installed the patch.

You can't access the missions until about an hour or two into the game. Right after you make your first Banner you'll be able to explore freely and do the missions.

As for the missions themselves. They aren't anything special. I liked the extra back story but there aren't any crazy revelations or anything. The Jacket is cool, but looks kinda out of place on Delsin.

Considering the Limited and Standard editions are the same price, you might as well grab a Limited edition so you can get Cole's Legacy. I definitely wouldn't pay for it, but for a free mission, it's alright.

Apparently they show up as yellow on the map. What ever that means.

I've started it, I was impressed at the start, but once I got over the bridge to Seattle the game became meh very quickly. The whole basis of the gameplay feels exactly the same as Crackdown did on the 360. You travel between hot spots in the boring, lifeless city that are filled with 50-100 enemies that look identical with an occassional boss fight thrown in. Collecting shards to me feels no different to the orbs collection in Crackdown.

Overall I am somewhat disappointed with the game thus far. I'm really hoping for some variety towards in the rest of the game because it has gotten old very quick.

There are heaps of random citizens, same as the other Infamous games, but not till you clear the DUP out of the first area. when you get to the area that has the spaceneedle you see them. that is the 2nd part of the city you enter. i love it because of the DUP vans driving around and checkpoints so you cant just spend the whole time using powers to fly because you always get seen and get shot at.
