No, I judge Bruce on his game alone, and he has clearly improved at winning his own ball in the backline and has helped to get out of some tight situations.
Despite not always making the best decisions, he keeps a cool head most of the time (as evidenced by the fact that he never gets caught holding the ball). At the moment I would say he contributes more than Rivers, and possibly about on par with Garland, particularly when playing against a team with a myriad of small-medium forwards.
