Just read on the main board that josh Kennedy (eagles) is out for 12 weeks. Add to that lecras, nicoski and others and eagles may be in a similar position to us, if not worse. Their only positive is that they may get players back for finals.

Also fyfe appears in trouble with his shoulder. That would be big for them as well.

Then there is mumford from swans and a few players from geelong like vardy etc.

Season may be a battle of attrition this year and be decided by luck with injuries.

Hopefully, touch wood, our injury run is over.

This could be the year a side finishes out of the top 4 and wins it. With the lop sided draw and injuries some good sides may finish 5-8.

Hopefully none of the top sides gets a charmed run and is able to rest players all year as that will be a huge advantage this season in particular (unless it's us of course)

Judging from all the injuries during training this season the AFL needs to implement some restrictions on who trains and for how long.

To be consistent.:)

Hawthorn, Geelong and Collingwood are the only 3 sides I feel capable of winning it outside the Top 4.

Given we, and Hawthorn have the 2 hardest draws this year and the injuries we have, one of us might have to do it.

Hopefully by Round 10, we'll have everyone outside the 3 knee recos in, and maybe even Krakouer by finals and have a full boar run at it.

I agree, especially since Sydney and Weat Coast would have to win two away finals against higher-ranked sides just to make the GF. If we can make top four then we are in with a real chance.

Only 5 teams since 1995 (Ess 00, port 04, WC 06, Geel 07, Coll 10) have won the flag after finishing first. In that time Syd 96, StK 97, North 98, Ess 01, Bris 04, Geel 08, StK 09 and Coll 11 have topped the ladder, made the GF and lost. Maybe 1st is a disadvantage? (harder prelim, etc)

Certainly it appears that the top end will be the most even since around 05-06.

1) on 7 luke ball mentioned that Brett Macaffer just started running again.
2) last time i heard krakouer was targeting a mid year return.
3) Josh Thomas aiming for vfl return in a months time according to afl website.
4) the others are short term injuries.

the only one that's gone for the season is Ball.
