Quote from Doc Larkins column on AFL.com re McGovern, I dont like this one bit, but St.Kilda, probably not a bad one to potentially miss.

-Eagles defender Jeremy McGovern missed the win over Gold Coast with a small bleed in his calf and remains in doubt this week.

Wouldn't listen to him, he has about as much credibility as Kim Hagdorn when it comes to these sorts of things. Pretty sure he said Kennedy definitely needed surgery and may miss the rest of the season:drunk:

Injury update going by the vid online:

Scooter - Test
Mcgovern - Test
Shep - Test
Darling - 2-3 weeks
Cavka - 3 Weeks.
Rosa - 2-3 Weeks

So whoever mentioned in the changes thread about Scooter being a sneaky chance was right. I wonder if he'll play for EP first?

"While his inclusion would be a bolt from the blue, he has been training with the main group for the past couple of weeks and has looked in good shape, so it would come as no surprise to see him join the squad on the flight to Melbourne"

mmmm is it worth the risk! Play a game of WAFL then come back for the Geelong game.

Shouldn't selwood come back via the wafl - perhaps the ressies on limited minutes to ensure his ankle can actually cope with 60 minutes of footy - before we thrown him straight into an afl game

I guess they feel if he's been training at full capacity for a few weeks, and had no issues, then there's no reason why he can't play. I agree though, at least a week at EP would be best, especially with his history.

That is what we were told before Rd 23 last year and Rd 1 this year

Training for 90 minutes is a mile from playing a game.

Not sure Selwood & Hutch should play in the same team, will be interesting to see what happens if he is named.

Simpson said at the start of the year something along the lines of Selwood is our number 1 tagger, Hutch the understudy and Rosa had been doing some work there as well

Personally, given our side at the moment - i don't see a spot for both of them

No selwood pls we doing fine let him demand selection

I think Simmo will go down this line especially when we have the luxury of winning games at present. If you want to build a performance culture there can't be any free rides! The second tier guys need to know that they can retain their spot with good performance and the best 22 guys need to know that there are guys breathing down their necks for playing spots.

I like selwood he can be a very handy footballer on his day. But his lack of foot skills really hurts us IMO. In the rotation in these last few games we havehad . Shuey, Priddis, Yeo, lecras, Duggan, Sheed, Gaff and masten mainly. There all fairly good uses by hand and foot kind of reinforces simmos views. Far cry from the never intangible trio of scooter, Priddis and a tagged shuey.
