Had enough of Slattery, i reckon Hislop would be able to do just as good a job at defending or tagging as Slattery but find a bit more of the ball.
Not to mention Hislop has a much brighter future than Slattery aswell.

The bloke played shocking today, got no defensive pressure at all and his kicking was laughable, but ofcourse i wouldnt blame the whole game on him.

Neagle needs to com in for sure.....Mcphee and laycock couldn't mark 2day mcphee nlm and welsh basically do the same thing so why have all 3 down there when this is a perfect chance for neagle to prove himself

i agree with that although lonergan i thought did okay today..
the thing that dissapointed me most against the cats was the lack of agression
there were a number of occasions such as the ball being thrown at stanton (cant remember who through it) and i think it was hunt/wojinski pushing davey.. there was no fightback, i would have liked to see at least someone come in and bump the cats player when such things occur, its called supporting your team mates.... bring in welsh and reimers and i that problem should be solved..
slattery played a disgraceful game imo today, was really annoyed with his performance... dempsey injury is going to damage us greatley he is now a key part of our best 22.
I reckon that is fairly spot on. The team needs to be rotated a bit. Winderlich to play across half back to take over from Dempsey role across half back. Monfries deserves a chance ahead of Pev (fit or not) as a run with player. Welsh would have many possible match ups next week like Scotland, Houlihan, Stevens or however they play across half back next week getting cheap kicks

Now that we have no Lucas (it really showed today) i believe we can take a rookie off the rookie list, I would love to see Bellchambers get a shot against Carlton, apparently he played quite well on the weekend, and i know that he is reasonably skillful, perhaps he could be the next Cox, a rookie ruckmen turned brilliant.

Why would we play Monfries as a run with player when got absolutely smashed when playing run with roles in the nab cup and hasn't warranted selection through the VFL?
Hislop would be a much better run with player than Monfries, and the fact he actually player well in the VFL this week unlike Monfries.

I dont think Slattery was helped too much by some of the match-ups given to him. To have him line up on Johnson was asking for trouble, what area was he gonna match him? 2 weeks in a row the starting match ups have been a little off.

Big call but I actually agree, we need the structure and we cant have the second best defender going to Mcphee.

Reports i read suggest that all of Welsh, Lovett and Hislop were all better than Monfries. I don't think it matters all that much that Hislop has missed quite a bit of footy because he seems like he's in pretty good nick and would do a better job of keeping his opponent quiet than Slattery would IMO.
