Anyone who has ever moved cities and dealt with any uncertainty about job roles or living situations (I.e. how long will I stay in temporary accommodation for?) will understand there's an uncontrollable level of anxiety that comes with the territory.

Give me a break. Any player can go home at any time. I have met people who have had to go to war, wrongly imprisoned, spent months in hospital on end....the players get it easy.

I had to do it moving to London with a SOE Chinese company with only 1 other employee already there, didnt whinge. Was still getting paid AUD for the first 6 months without know way of knowing when I would move to my new GBP salary as well

The players might not be coping but that’s no excuse for how they played.

They would have been frustrated by the fact GC weren’t rolling over for them and because the weather made life a little harder for them.

I am a little bit disappointed in them really. I was hoping this could be them stamping their authority on the competition, a challenge that would make them play with chips on their shoulders.

Does the challenge not excite them? Don't they feel like it is them against the world? I would thrive off the opportunity to prove everyone wrong more so than the love of football for the next 4 weeks or longer and let that feed the fire.

There might be a handful of them that are soft, it doesn't take much to bring a team down, because a team needs every cog to fire.

I don't think anyone who had "to go to war, wrongly imprisoned, spent months in hospital on end" would have been particularly happy either.

This isn’t the hub thread but hey ****, yeah people go fifo, but as schoey said those people have end dates. They know what they’re up against. Our guys have just gone with no knowing when they’ll return. That’s some straight BS. It’s on the AFL to let them know regardless of what the WA government is doing that yeh you’ll be home by this date.

If/when a Vic club goes hubbing it will be on the proviso they’ll be back in two weeks. That’s a piece of cake.

Flat out disappointed by the effort last week but shit these guys are sacrificing a shit tonne and it ain’t being respected

The people we send to war end up committing war crimes or not doing well when they come home with higher rates of suicide.

This thread is so dumb and reeks of a Monty Python sketch if you all weren't so serious.

The "no end date" thing really does play on your mind, I've been doing 6 weeks on, 6 weeks off all over the world for over 20 yrs, when we don't have our flight details with about 2 weeks to go people get rather agitated and if theres bad weather so choppers cant land you effectively dont know when you can go home, that's when some people get really depressed, especially the younger crew.

Oi qunts.

There were whispers of full crowds being allowed at Optus from next month, and that borders were going to open on Jul 17, hence why AFL wanted us up there for another two weeks.

Obviously that won't happen.

This will be a very interesting press conference.

Perth Stadium given green light for huge numbers of fans to return over the next month

Perth Stadium can host a crowd of up to 30,000 when WA enters phase four of easing coronavirus restrictions this weekend.
That number will increase to 60,000 next month.

WA Premier Mark McGowan revealed the change, which will come into play after midnight on Friday night, will remove existing gathering limits as well as seating requirements at licensed venues.

Sporting stadiums will be allowed to reopen at 50 per cent capacity, which means Optus Stadium can hold up to 30,000 people.

“Phase four is another giant step for our state,” Mr McGowan said.

“We’re confident it’s the right step at the right time.”

But he said a decision on the border closure would be shelved for now, following a new rash of cases in Victoria.

“I won’t be pressured into making a rushed decision on our hard border,” he said.

Was watching On The Couch tonight and I nearly fell off the couch when they showed these stats.

No wonder we're struggling.

No questioning we've been poor, but what do those stats even mean? Firstly, they are based on the AFL player rankings, which we all know are an absolute load of garbage. Secondly, what are the points in time they're comparing? I assume they've taken the ratings as of last week and possibly from the end of 2018.

Not sure it gives us any further insight than what we already know. Players are down on fitness, down on form and confidence and our gameplan is possibly broken. It is a scary trifecta, but thankfully it's only the end of rnd 3. Collingwood went 0-3 to start 2018 and made the GF, we lost 3 in a row part way through 2018 when Kennedy and Darling were injured. Hopefully the Perth hub gives us the circuit breaker we need to string some wins together.
