just heard a very interesting story. i am not saying it is true but if it is true and the afl hears about it port could be in very big trouble.

apparently this french guy was told to knock croad out as he was ports biggest threat

croad was released from hospital today and apparently he doesnt even remember how he got to the game on saturday

lets all hope that croady makes a quick recovery and is ready for the derby in 2 weeks

a) the video review was completed and no Port players were reported.

b) I doubt very much that after the other 13 games we have played this year the match commitee would decide that Croad needs to be taken out. Croad is not a bigger threat than Grant last week, Richardson the week before etc etc. I certainly wouldn't waste a valuable backup ruckman on him.

I would be quite sure that they were instructed to be physical toward the Freo forwards however, as physical presence is something they lack.

well french was reported for striking
i never said that it was true that they were instructed to knock croad out but u cant rule it out and it could be exactly like the derby 2000 were apparently freo went out their to shed blood whereas i believe it was the eagles that had planned to go out there and shed blood especially it was the eagles that started the demolition derby

Where did you hear this rumour???

Have you even seen the French/Croad incident?? By the way you are talking you think it was a king hit. It wasnt....Croad went to shepherd, French fended him off lifting his arm too high and collected him with his forearm.

Croad the biggest threat....that bit makes me laugh tho.

well i'm glad i can make u laugh and yes i did see the incident i was at the game and i just seen it replayed croad went to shepherd, french had no intention of heading towards the ball considering it was nearly 5 metres in the other direction of where french was heading.
it may have just been a ordinary shepherd it just looks a bit more suss than ordinary shepherds
my original post may have been a bit emotional but thats why i changed it when i seen the incident again but i still believe that it was an intentional incident to take croad out of the game even if he wasnt the biggest threat

oh another thing...

im 100% sure the AFL would take notice of this.
If the AFL actually listened to "Rumours" then Jonathon Hay would be in prison at the moment for drug trafficking, and Spider Everitt would be in a Drug Rehab clinic still.

Not saying you made this up Dockerbabe but i think its pathetic how people make up things when their team loses.

Blatant hit to the head.
Barnaby (is that even a name) should be going on a nice holiday.

Notice how they smacked the wiz as he kicked a goal.

Mugs.

HAHAHA. That just proves you didnt see the incident...or you are blind. Farmer is running towards his forward line....French is chasing him...RUNNING IN THE SAME DIRECTION...Croad comes from the other direction to block Frenchs run at Farmer and thats where the collision came.

it may have just been a ordinary shepherd it just looks a bit more suss than ordinary shepherds

Croad was the one that laid the shepherd...so if it "looked suss" then blame Croad.

i still believe that it was an intentional incident to take croad out of the game even if he wasnt the biggest threat

Do you still beleive in Father Christmas and the Tooth Fairy as well??

If you honestly believe that the Port Coaching staff sent Barnaby French out there to knock out Trent Croad then you have the intelligence of a dried pea. And thats being nice.

From what I have heard I would have suggested that the loss of haselby is what really killed us.
Croad though valuable doesnt have the impact of Haselby.

It should be noted that Port players haven't shied away from physical contact in contests this year. Croad was the unlucky player in this incidence.....

I don't think that French was told by the coach to specifically run at him - to the best of my knowledge he was following the ball.

The whole team would've been advised not to shirk the issue though, and players like Poulton and French who are on the fringe realise that they can't afford to shirt the issue, so they don't.

bit rich coming from you considering you reckon one of Fremantles greatest moments was Kickett knocking out Read

That was supposed to be top secret information Dockerbabe, how dare you tell the world about the pre-meditated French/Croad incident.

You must have been the other fly on the wall while Mark Williams and Rob Snowden discussed the best way to beat Fremantle. Yes the Dockers completely revolve around Trent Croad, knock out Croad must = 4 points to the Power.

Im surprised you didn't mention the rest of the conversation between Williams and Snowden. Fremantle are that great Port actually thought they would have to knock out the entire Dockers side to win the game.

The only thing that French did wrong was not to put him in hospital for longer! :D

Exactly.

Dockerbabe - if you actually bother to look at the incident (im watching it frame by frame right now) you will see that French is about 2 1/2 metres away from Farmer as Farmer kicks the ball....Croad is the one that comes from the opposite direction to lay the shepherd, and French collected him high with his forearm.

There was none of this "French wasnt even running in the same direction" crap. If you actually WATCH it then youll see.

Sure it was reckless and deserves a 2-3 week holiday, but to say it was intentional and that he was told to do it by Mark Williams is laughable.

You lot thought it was fantastic and worthy of a medal when Kickett went nuts against West Coast....yet one of your players gets hit and you cry poor and claim it was intentional and that our coach told him to do it. Ridiculous.

As for Poultons bump on Farmer....thats exactly what it was....a bump. It is a physical game...and there was nothing in it but an honest clean bump.

If your not saying it's true then stop implying it. Barnaby French is not a dirty player and we didn't need to take Croad out to beat your sorry arses.
This is the biggest load of crap I've heard all day. Please send it to the AFL and turn Barnaby in, if your info is so good.

idiot.

I thought it was disgusting of Trent Croad to head butt Innocent young barnaby in the elbow, Trent Croad, Chris Groom for number 1 picks? (Mcleod and Hodge) U guys must have some weird chemicals in the Fremantle water. And u call him a threat, u have been watching too much Macgyver

Barney isn't a dirty player but he does go in hard. The incident was more 'clumsy' than deliberate and knowing the AFL tribunals past decisions on clumsy acts, he is gone.

The days of players being instructed to head hunt by their coaches is gone.

And you wonder why Port supporters are such a hated feral mob.

Showing your hypocritical side yet again are we young Sabre??

Dockers fans say the SAME thing about what Kickett did to Read...even youve said it before that Read deserved to have the crap kicked out of him. You feral pig sabre

But of course...its ok for Dockers fans to say things like that

your right i didn't make it up i heard it but there is no excuse for losing to one of the best sides in the comp and chris connelly said at the after match function that there was absolutely no excuse even if haselby and croad had played the full game it wouldn't have gained us over 10 goals it is as simple as we got beaten on the day by the better side

i did see the incident but the footage that was shown on the news wasnt the best that they could have shown and i am just saying what i seen

and so all the people that believed that freo went out to shed blood on that derby in 2000 also have the intelligence of a dried pea simply because clive made a joke

i just would have loved to have seen croad stay on a bit longer and to be matched up against primus that would have been quite an intersting game
