Re: Interview with Rory Taggert: want to ask him something?

Sorry CA, should've bitten my tongue but the temptation was too great...

Back on topic - good stuff Eth, looking forward to hearing what Taggert has to say.:thumbsu:

Re: Interview with Rory Taggert: want to ask him something?

I'd just like to know how he rates himself in front of goal.

Good work mate

Re: Interview with Rory Taggert: want to ask him something?

Which players have had the biggest impact on him/taken him under their wing since he has been at the club?

How big a rise in expectation has he found pre season/training this year compared to last year?

What areas have the coaches told him to focus on and improve in this year?

Re: Interview with Rory Taggert: want to ask him something?

1. What does he think the club needs, to start going back up the ladder again.

2. Do they ever do skills training or is it mostly just fitness? Mainly asking this because their skill are atrocious.

3. What does he think free agency will do to the club and the AFL.

4. Who is the hardest worker at the club (ie, does extra after training is finished) and who isn't (rather go home and play XBox).

5. Has Cale Morton ever seen weights let alone lift them.

6. Where he sees himself in 5 years.

7. Who is/was his biggest inspiration or hero

Re: Interview with Rory Taggert: want to ask him something?

For Rory: Be honest... did you crap yourself when you heard Melbourne had drafted you rather than another team?

For Eth: Will there be a podcast or recording of this so we can listen back to it?

Re: Interview with Rory Taggert: want to ask him something?

Eth, could you ask him, how he has adjusted living with a host family & what they are like. eg, too much footy talk at home or a good balance of footy & normal life...

Another question; what are the dieticians trying to do with his body, make it leaner or bulking him up? Is there an expected growth spurt that they can pin point???

Re: Interview with Rory Taggert: want to ask him something?

I'd like to know where the dees see Taggert in say 3-5 years and the role the team see him for-filling in the near future.

What was the motivation in picking him? Surely alot of this was pre-planned. The reason i'm interested is we recruited Magner for a tough inside ready made player and Sellar as a backup ruckman/backman and we all know why Clark was targeted. Then we have Taggert and Tynan who are developing players and it'd be good to see where they fit into the side in a few years.

Maybe ask where Taggert sees himself playing, what he wants to bring to the club. Also how long he sees himself on the sidelines, would like to see him debut

Good work mate

Well if he is half as good as the last guy we saw from Horsham we should be quite content

Although we wont make the same mistake of saying he wasn't good enough

To those who domt know who i am referring to Doug Wade joined Geelong then kicked 1057 goals for the Cats and the Roos

What could have been

talking on goal kickers i see a familiar name playing for Horsham United kick 22 goals in a Game (2004)

Would have been great if our Brad Miller could have done that down here as he would still be a Demon

They breed them tough in the Wimmera

My question is a 3 part question

Rory do you practice both sides of the body by hand and foot?

If so what age did you start doing that seriously in an endeavor to improve your skills

What percentage of the waking hours would you have a footy in your hand?

Have followed Horsham (Demons) since the middle 50,s

Always a shame at the mergers and in some cases the folding of some footy clubs in Victorian county football

Rory Taggert footy card collection is 5 so far

Hoping for many more

Re: Interview with Rory Taggert: want to ask him something?

Okay guys, Ryan Larkin (Melbourne's media manager) emailed me today, and Rory Taggert's unavailable as he's doing something for the Melbourne site.

He's given me James Strauss instead. Any questions (inb4howsurleg) would be much appreciated on James instead of Rory...I'll pick the best one or two and they'll be included.

So, CA, RandB, Biff...could you edit the title? :thumbsu:

For Rory: Be honest... did you crap yourself when you heard Melbourne had drafted you rather than another team?

Yep, Bound For Glory on SYN, 90.7 FM. Saturday mornings at 10 am. Won't actually be on this week because there's plenty of presenters for it, but I can say roughly when the interview will be if you don't want to listen to a whole hour of footy.

Re: Interview with Rory Taggert: want to ask him something?

Strauss, you've suffered a number of serious injuries in your short career. Who at the club (or outside the club) has most helped you deal with the frustration of not being able to play?

Same questions from earlier in the thread still apply Eth. You could ask anyone at the club and get the same answer so yeah, ask away! ;)

Where does he think Neeld will play him?

What does he need to improve in his game?

Who does he model his game on?

How many STD's would you endure to **** Scully's sister in front of him?

But I think my other questions directed at Rory would work.

I meant more will we be able to listen to it after the broadcast, seeings as I'll probably be at work.

Q: James, Mark Neeld has said he's laid out specific goals and targets for each player, can you tell us what he's said to you in regards to what you need to do to get a game and stay in the side once you're there? What role does he see you playing?

Re: Interview with Rory Taggert: want to ask him something?

Interview is done. Went down well.

Pinched a couple of your questions and already had a few of the others asked written down anyway. :thumbsu:

Re: Interview with Rory Taggert: want to ask him something?

Bumping this thread to remind everybody that James Strauss will be on Bound For Glory on SYN 90.7 FM tomorrow from 10 am. We've also got an interview with Emma Quayle tomorrow, so it's worth a listen. :thumbsu:

10am?

If I'm up, I'll tune in.

Is it streamed online?

Yeah just use the questions you already have just modify any that might directly pertain to Rory.
