I am still a suffering Three Mobile customer. My data usage has diminished to almost nothing cos I rarely bother any more.
Switch to TPG guys - $19 a month gets me $330 to any network, $370 to TPG and 1GB of data. It's a talk and text plan, but there's no contract.
Won't it be the iPhone 4GS before the iPhone 5?

Not necessarily. There was no iPhone S after the original iPhone.
Fairly safe to say, yes. The last four years have seen release dates as such:
June 29, 2007 - July 11, 2008 - June 19, 2009 - June 24, 2010

How much internet is your phone able to use while locked?
Here is my story. I had a $49 vodafone cap on a normal shit phone. Just a normal month to month etc....
I got an iPhone, got the new sim for it, changed my plan to suit but was still about 8 days away from my billing period which is when my new cap would begin. This was on a Friday arvo, checked my balance and I had about $180 credit left so I'm thinking I wont go over my cap even if the data usage is charged at a very high rate because of the old cap. They of course did not advise me of anything like that and I forgot to ask. This was 11/2/11
I barely used the net. I downloaded a few apps, I've added up what I think I downloaded and added a few for just for arguments sake and have a generous total of 55.4 mb in apps. ps all sat night and a bit of sunday my phone was connected to wifi, then all of monday morning too.
On Sunday I get a text from vodafone that i've used $380 of shit not included in my plan. So obviously I'm wtf and stop any internet action which I barely was anyways. I recheck my credit and it keeps going up and got up to $480. This was I think the tue. So I call vodafone asking wtf and why I cant just start my new cap now and not wait until my billing period, they say I cant coz im keeping my number etc, So I say well I'm on month to month why cant I just DC then reconnect that day, again they go it's not possible to keep my number then so I'd have to go to another carrier, get a prepaid sim change my number, then go to vodafone and dc and rc. So naturally I go **** you I'm going to change but stay changed. Already got out of one contract through
the TIO so Ive had issues with these ****s.
So either the tue or wed I cant remember I switched to back to Telstra. Now I've been hammering the net, ****ing hammering it and my data usage is sweet **** all confirming to me that when I had vodafone I used even less.
My vodafone bill ended up $623.45
My phone says I have sent 16.7mb and recieved 231 mb. Now I know it's not 100% but it sounds reasonably fair. Most of that usage was with telstra. If I include the 55.4mb in apps, chuck on around 50mb in usage say I used 100mb with vodafone.
I call the ****s today and they claim in those few days that I used 1.3 gig in data. Even if i triple my generous calculation in usage im still no where near 1.3 gig
ps the WHOLE time ive had ALL push notifications off.
So can anyone find a reasonable reason how vodafone figure ive used 1.3 gig, Is it purely because I'm cro and went to NSL games?
I think it's another call to the TIO

Can any body tell me if it's at all possible to download some apps through your pc and then up load them through your PC on your iPhone? I'm speaking of cracked apps also...
Yeah, just install them off the app store on iTunes then they will be added to your iDevice the next time you sync.
@Zim^zuM and everyone else, make sure you have at least 1 usage app installed and monitor your usage. You shouldn't be getting your bill and be surprised, you should have checked 2-3 weeks earlier and seen that something's up and done something then.

If Apple want to continue to remain competitive, I think they need to consider additional lines of phones, say a low end iPhone mini. Just like they have 4 iPod models, they should already have 2 iPhone models, and probably be looking at a 3rd as well.

Got a few queries.
Why is it that surfing the net uses more battery than watching a movie. Over the course of an hour I reckon my battery went down over 30% and I wasn't even on spending all that time on my phone.
Also got a problem with playing musc. It will go through 10-20 songs then will just stop as if it has reached the end of a playlist. I have to go back and it shuffle in order to get it playing again which is a pain in the arse.

I'll believe it when i see it!!I called Mumbai central and got a touch angry about the fact I was in a country town in Vic and got no reception [even though everyone else had coverage in town!!]Managed to get my plan down to 45$ and extra data. Got told this month that reception will improve

I didn't have the fone 2-3 weeks earlier. I had the fone for 2 days. Have contacted the TIO. I did not use 1.3 gig of data in one day.
Did you contact your carrier before contacting the TIO?
I had the same issue, had used 80-odd percent of my quota within a day of purchasing the phone, this seems to happen with everyone.
I hope you actually did some research first before crying to the TIO who will throw your case out probably.

Yes, I've dealt with the TIO before and won.
Same issue? was it with telstra? it would have been because the cycle was ending anyways so they bump it up like that.
In my situation I know I looked at my fone 4-5 times that day and they allege that used up 1.3 gig of data, even the TIO lady said it's quite absurd that they would suggest I used that much data when if I actually tried to use 1.3 gig in a day I would fail.
I installed iBomber ages ago, loved it, and finally got around to installing iBomber II and iBomber Defense. All great games. And I believe they scale to iPad size.

Me 2 vodafone 0. They have waived the data usage charges and my bill goes from over 600 to just 50. Well worth 'crying' to the tio
