I was almost going to get the S6 Edge but decided on the standard S6 because of the expensive screen protectors and how difficult it is to the hold the phone by the sides of the device. Definitely a type of phone that is made for a specific kind of user.

It looks like you can get some decent looking tempered glass screen protectors, even at $40 or so it's worth it for protecting that kind of screen. But yeah, they're a very nice phone, I just don't think they're for me at this point.

I reckon I'll cash in my Telstra new phone feeling for a black S7 tomorrow (I'd love a silver one but they seem pretty shiny), I was hoping some comprehensive reviews would come out before I had to pre-order but I reckon I'll just go for it. The Edge is too big, and I'd hate to have to replace that screen.

You've made a good choice ;) and that's coming from someone who's used the S7 and S7 Edge

I hope so, the Edge looks like a great phone but I'd take easy one-handed usage over the slightly larger screen with "edges" that may or may be overly functional.

I can't say a whole lot just yet, but the S7 is definitely a more compact device, although the S7 Edge is also reasonably easy to hold. Edge functionality has improved but I still wouldn't buy it for that reason

Can't stand Android's software.

Apple's miles ahead in that regard.

*shrug* I've been an Android owner for the last 5 or so years, and deal with iOS devices pretty much every day. iOS is solid and easy to use, but it's way too dumbed down and restrictive for my liking. At least with Android you can choose to make it as basic or as complex as you like, and you're not reliant on a POS like iTunes to manage it. The only positive thing I can say about iTunes is the backup/restore feature is very handy when you're upgrading peoples phones, other than that it's a pain in the ass.
