I’m no psychologist, how would I know why players laying poor tackles makes you all foam at the mouth. It really is bizarre.

If umps called play on, he'd still play on. Everyone carries on about it, but the umps still let it go.
I don't care either way anymore as the game is so stupidly umpired anyway and he is and will always be one of the most courageous players the game has had and will have. It would Probably improve him if the umps removed that style from his game.
They brought in the below the knee crap, so cry to them to remove the "ducking/lifting opponents arms"

Blah blah. You know that Selwood gets more head high frees than anyone else. He is extremely good at getting them. Should we all change how we tackle because of one diving cheat? This is not the answer

That's hardly a big chunk of the viewing public. BigFooty wouldn't even fill the MCG.
There are a lot of decorated champions in the game that don't do what Selwood does. I like those guys - they're great to watch. Sloane last night did some hard hard things and never once tried to milk a free kick. Love watching Sloane. Same is true of probably 10-20 top line midfielders in the AFL.
But Selwood - his approach to drawing frees is a real stain on the game.
I agree that other clubs need to learn how to tackle him better. He's exploiting the rules is a gross, extreme way and others have to combat it, but imagine if Joel played without consideration of free kicks? He'd probably be a champion.

Great player that lets himself down, you have to be blind to think his ducking doesnt tarnish his reputation.
He wasn't trying to break the tackle, leans into the armpit of the tackling player. If Sloane had of put his arms in the air and declined to tackle Selwood would of landed on the ground, I wish someone would do just that one day.
As bad as Joel can be, Scott is way worse
He's a level below the players that don't work so hard for free kicks in terms of champion status. It's really not a champion thing to do.
