Yes, he cr@pped himself when alone in the third quarter and dropped that sitter, but you get out there with practically zero experience and try to play. Nardz summed it up best:

He recovered well enough to get a quick handball off which resulted in a goal. Perhaps he gets the benefit of the doubt in that he was going to do that anyway, but just got a bit ahead of himself. It at least showed some smarts.

As someone else pointed out, at the moment is is a better ruck prospect than Richards and Fraser, 2 stick insects who cant stay fit. He's got a lot to learn but he shows promise. He'll get promoted at the end of the year without a doubt.

Stan, you're possibly the lamest poster in this forum. Vinnie schooled you and then you come back with the U-Sarcasm gimmick.

Davies and O'Brien look better then Fanning because they aren't carrying a freaking 204cm/100kg frame around the park. Fanning is raw, very raw and needs time to adapt to the game. The guy hasn't even played 22 senior games of football, PERIOD and you’re good enough to judge from his handful of AFL games that he is both soft and a dud?

Congratulations, you’re a bigger dumbass then I first thought!

Im quite confident my first impression of him is the right one ,in that he will always be soft and always has been even when playing a fairly high level of basketball.

So what if he hasnt played 22 senior games yet whats that supposed to mean?

There are hundreds of kids around the country who get judged whether there good enough or not by the time there 16 and still a couple of years away from seniors.

And vinnie is a tool who has never said an intelligent or coherent word on any subject during his time on big footy, he's a total assclown.

And as for u pindik if you dont like what i say put me on your ignore list, dumbass.

Yep, as a junior a mere 5-6 years ago he was selected in a regional side ahead of Andrew Bogut. Look what happened to Bogut when he bulked up.........

EL OH EL, pal!

1) Please produce the evidence that he was *soft* in Basketball. I'm under the impression he wasn't the best, but please, explain how he was soft. Having played Basketball for a number of years at rep level, I’d be interested to know.

PS: What relevance does this have to his football?

2) So what? He hasn't played 22 senior games of Australian Rules Football PERIOD and you come back with "so what?".

8/10 times a possible draftee goes back to their respective local club whether it be from TAC Cup, COLTS or what have you, I can guarantee you 100% that they play senior football. Going into the draft, most players have senior experience at some level. Fanning is extremely raw for a *more mature aged* player then some teenage draftees. You've already passed judgment and he hasn't even played a full season of senior football at ANY level. How can one determine whether another is soft or a dud having seen so little?

3) Any moron could come up with insults that aren't as lame, compared to a catholic boy, you're very tame. I’ve read plenty of your posts and I suggest you stick to what you know best, Stan and that’s producing irreverent and in-correct facts to *try* and win a battle.

Ask anyone who played basketball with him **************, they say he was soft then and i can only take them on there word.

And if u cant see that he is soft than u know zilch about football kid.

Most draftees dont play any senior football before there drafted especially in this state maybe sa or wa but not here.

I dont care for your opinion anyway to try and win a battle so you might as not answer my posts from now on.

Give the kid a chance.... If you 'STAN' have not seen the improvement this guy has made over the past year then you know nothing about football!
I am not saying that he will make it but he is well worth perservering with!

He's not up to it.period.

I played against him in the EDFL , only reason he made it is was becoz of his great height. He got supsended for striking in the u14s when he whacked our ruckmen so he might be soft but he gets agro. Just a little clumsy and slow around the ground.

:) Are you sure?

I guess you're unware of who i play for. I know for a fact anyone dropped from their respective TAC Cup team or given a bye will 8/10 times go back to their local club and play senior football.

How do i know this you ask? Because, i'm around it. Please continue to make an ass out of yourself, it's very amusing.

Im thinkin wafl, sanfl senior's not low level rubbish your crappin on about.

Playin suburban level dungpuncher football doesnt rate to ol stanley.

I couldnt careless what netball club you play with anyway.

Name our recruits who have played dungpuncher level before being drafted goose!

We need to keep at least 4 of Fanning, Fraser, Hall, Richards and Cameron Cloke. Our ruck stocks are pretty thin, I suggested this at the start of the year that after Richards and Fraser we don't have much but many people didn't take this into consideration. Fanning is ok, but I don't think he will make it. He is going better at this stage than what we thought he would be, i.e. "an uber project player". People bag Cameron Cloke, and while he may get smashed in the ruck, he limits the effect. A 10 hitout game from Cam is way better than a 20 hitout game from Fred. While Fred may get some great hitouts, the opposition will get plenty more effective ones that lead to clearances, Cameron digs in and holds up the ball and has a hand in clearences.

Let's see, how many players you want me to name? Every player in the AFL has played bush footy you nit.

Don't worry Alkaline. Stanly just doesn’t like admitting he is wrong. Does Stanly honestly think when there is a TAC Cup bye or an omission their respective TAC or Local club would want them to play COLTS, U18 or U19?

I feel bad for such embarrassment of someone who knows so little yet says so much.

I guess we’re trailing off topic now though, we better talk about how “bad” the super experienced Fanning is!

What a load bull********.

Rusling, rocca, fraser, lonie, licuria, shaws, clokes, presti, just to name a few have never played seniors or bush footy before they were drafted.

Whos the nit now, nit wit.

So much anger Stan, and directed at your Collingwood brothers and sisters what's more. Life's too short mate. Suggest you agree to disagree about the merits of Flaps, and re-direct your ire to opposition posters on the AFL Board.
