Guys I am not trolling.. however I am interested in your thoughts on MM.

Firstly I think MM is the best coach in the AFL and what he has managed at Collingwood since coming over has been amazing. Having said that he demands a very very accountable brand of football which is hard to maintain year on year.

I have heard a number of commentators over the years suggest that players from WC beleive he has about a 7 or 8 year life at a club due to his game style and approach.

Is it time for a freash approach?

YES get rid of MM i cant stand his game plan, its too predictable and every coach in the league besides roos and figured it out. So come on down BUCKS!
P.S i was just about to start a thread saying to get rid of mick but you beat me to it:thumbsu:.

I want Bucks to be thrown in as a assistant now... and if MM moves on for whatever reason, Bucks should get the job (ala Leigh Matthews).

90% of the current playing list know and respect Bucks so highly - he does not need to apprenticeship elsewhere, FFS keep him in house.

I agree.

Keep MM as the main man, but let Bucks have some input if necessary.

You answered your own question there. Some people seem to think that a change of coach will equal instant premiership success. Bring Bucks in as an assistant. Would we be doing any better right now with another coach at the helm? Probably not. The only coach I would like at for replacing him at the moment would be Choco.

I think you are spot on, particularly with the difficulty in maintaining his game style. But I think his comments yesterday are also accurate,'we don't have the cattle'. Unfortunately appointing a new coach won't change that.

Bucks should be an assisstant he has no coaching experience but i do agree we need a fresh approach id give MM one more year, i think his contract ends next year anyways but he has to stop being so stubborn move people if were getting beat dont just leave it.

New coaches with a fair bit of experience even set the club back one or two years. We'd be taking a huge huge gamble with Buckley. Another element of risk is the fact he has spent hardly any time outside this club so he isn't going to come in with that many fresh ideas.

Even if Collingwood were silly enough to offer Buckley the coaching position next season, I doubt very much he would accept. Bucks is used to being successful and he would want to be completely convinced he was ready to take on the responsibilities of a senior coaching position. this means a few years at the very least of study, assisting an established coach and formulating his own strategies.
Also I do not think Bucks would want to be seen to let Colliingwood down and would put enough pressure on himself to be as prepared as he could be and equipped to take the Pies to a flag.
The same way he approached his football from day one until his last game.

Bucks last year was virtually as assistant coach.

I know its not much but he would have some experience... he knows how it works.

Bring him in.

But at the same time I don't believe its MM's time .. yet

Firstly, I agree that MM's time is not up.
But I think Bucks needs time away from MM's coaching style to develop new ideas and formulate his own "coaching style".

You've got to be kidding about getting rid of MM. Since 1982 (In 26years) Collingwood has only played played in 3 successive finals campaigns, 88 89 and 90 ONCE!!!!
If MM gets Collingwood into it's 3rd successive finals for the second time in 26 years do we just let him go regardless of the outcome?

5 rounds to go guys, Lets see where we finish on the ladder at the end of RD 22.

Seeing bucks coach at another club would be like breaking up with a girlfriend and watching her get done in the rear by your most hated enemy

Ha ha every time we lose one of these is started, now even the scum are in on it. So predictable, but at least it wasn't one of our own. If we lose next week I will do it, even though I think MM is very good at his job.

Bucks wont coach the pies next, Mark Williams will

Is anyone worried about McKenna being linked to GC17?
Yes but seeing as he is malthouse coaching clone (ie he helped devise our gameplan)

I think i maybe in the minority

Buckley will never return to Collingwood whilst Eddie McGuire is there.

In fact eddie has had 10 years to do something, anything on the football field.

He helped Greg Swann turn around the financial plight fair enough (mainly Swanny) but has not landed one big name in his time at Collingwood.

He has also used his position as President to advance his own cause at the expense of Collingwood.

Malthouse and McGuire should both fall on their swords if they have any ounce of courage and honesty in them.

Don't expect it to happen any time soon, though.

does anyone think we dont land the big names cos everyone else hates us?? Just because we are the biggest and best (thats right) its not like we can pay the most for the best players such as other leagues around the world

Yes it is time for Bucks.......

To pull a gurnsey back on and get out on the paddock to show the rest of the boys how to play consistent footy.
