While I hate the article its about time someone gave us some criticism in the media.

Terry should buy 40-odd copies of the Hun today and give it all the players, show them how their performances are being reported in the media and tell them to get their act together and show the football public we arent a bunch of under-achievers.

More to the point he should especially go to JoN, Edwards, McGuane and Riewoldt (And I wish Meyer) and say read this, you're playing this Friday night, answer your critics, show them what you've got.

we have nothing to lose now, absolutely nothing. You dont need strong players against the Bulldogs, just fast, so bringing in the young guns will be no problem.

TAKE A CHANCE. :thumbsu:

the kids arent the problem

let them stay at coburg and get some confidence playing with each other

its the senior players who started this mess and they should sought it out

Those players are playing with confidence and its about time the confidence is shown to the seniors.

Drop the wood, blood the kids.

Yep totally agree. Our kids are expected to do too much too soon thanks to the senior players. If those players had done what is expected of them we'd be 3-0 right now and the media would have their collective tongues up Punt Roads arse.

No surpirses Lyon has held the blowtorch off Melbourne. Wont have a choice after they get spanked by Freo this week.

FFS then PLSC what is your solution?

You slag off the senior players atm and like quite a few young ones but you dont want to play them to give them experience.

Where exactly do you sit?

We are forgetting one of the main problems people, a close loss and getting beat is culture at this club. When was the last time this club got a real spray from a coach or former player in public, NEVER!!. Everyone around this club uses kids gloves with everything and whilst that is happening things will never change.

the senior players are the ones to blame and if they are so upset that they arent getting the attention they want how about they ****ing do something

BUT they arent so **** 'em. Give it to a player who really is going to have a crack and those who think they're protected species, drop them.

Show them there is no free lunch at Richmond FC. :thumbsu:

If the senior players were upset that most of Richmond's success will come without them then why don't they pull a finger out and play so well that they lift the team into the finals?

Instead they are the ones not performing.

Maybe they are playing for the fun of playing and aren't putting everything in. What's the point in them putting bodies on the line? I know Terry has said there will be a small opportunity through '08-'09, but is it a coincidence the senior players are underperforming the same time the coach says the real stuff won't begin untill they retire?

our senior players are weak full stop

the quicker they go the better but every year its the same crap all over again

We need to stop Brad Johnson. He is one of the best around at the moment. I would even contemplate double teaming him. Put someone in the hole to cut off his leads.

No need to throw the baby out with the bath water WRT blooding kids. Maybe blood one new guy (Riewoldt?) if he deserves it. We need to manage the development of young players with a longer term view rather than knee jerk reactions.

Don't listen to Gary Lyon. He seems to rate the depth and talent of a club on the back of a few wins. He used to rate Collingwood as having a great list in 2003 and among the top 2 in the league for the next few seasons even though I still rated them as a middle of the ladder list. The next year when they lost early games he was saying they look old and slow and need to rebuild lol. In a month, he would be saying the Hawks were average and the Tiges look exciting if we won our next 3 or 4 and if the hawks lost their next 3 or 4. This can easily happen too because we do have a young promising list who will turn it on at some point

For Once I totally agree with you, the reason so many star players like Kosi and N.Riewoldt are going down with injuries is because they were thrust into the big time too early, they have had to maintain such a high standard of play and have never been able to adapt to the lower levels before going up to the more senior styles.

While it is great that we will debut a couple of players this week we dont need to rush these underdeveloped kids into the big time, let them play consistent footy before making them play against the bigger guys.

That I do agree, with but as for Lyon's article I take it with a pinch of salt.
It was completely one sided and deliberately provoctive.

Rubbish journalism by a 'look at me' egomaniac who's never coached.

you should be employed by the rfc

who cares about the long term future at the club lets just get a couple of cheap wins so the media stays off our back

how pathetic

That article is certainly painted with some extra-high strength rose coloured glasses. The Hawks looked bloody horrible in the opening couple of rounds and then managed to knock off the wooden spoon favourite by 3 goals. At least the Tigers have been competitive in their matches, even if things haven't gone fantastically.
Clinton Young and Grant Birchall on par with Deledio? Franklin most exciting youngster around? (Hawkins, Gibbs, Murphy, Pearce etc. anybody?) Blue chip stocks waiting to develop? What a load of shit. You can't on one hand say "Where is Danny Meyer and JON?" and on the other hand say the Hawks are just letting the kids develop in the twos. Its the same bloody thing!
FFS, if tanking for picks is the way Lyon wants teams to play then he's a bigger ****wit than i had imagined. At least we've had the balls to stay competitive and give our senior players something to play for. I bet Crawf loves the way the Hawks have gone about it for the past couple of years.

What I don't get is the huuge Tiger turnout against Collingwood and then the trickle of Richmond supporters that attended the Sydney game the week before.

Let's show all these ****ers by turning up and giving the lads some support.

Positive ****ing support!!!!
