This scientists claims to have found computer code within the Universe itself.

I'm a big fan of videogames and there is a game coming out later this year that I'm interested in.
It's called No Man's Sky and basically you explore a virtual universe teaming with 18 quintillion possible planets.

Technology is developing at an amazing rate, games like this would blow the mind of a kid 20 years ago.

40-50 years from now we will have computer technology capable of creating a videogame and a character/s within that game that could actually develop their own consciousness and believe their virtual world is reality.

Not sure I believe this is all a simulation myself, however it's an interesting topic nonetheless.

Perhaps the most creative explanation of how the world could end tomorrow is that we might just be living in a gigantic computer simulation that happens to get switched off. It might sound ridiculous, but scientists still haven't settled, once and for all, whether we're living a life made of code. Sure, people have recently suggested how we could tell if everything around is happening on a sliver of silicon in a giant server room in the sky—but nobody's yet tested the theory. Let's hope nobody hits ESC.

If so then the game needs a reboot

Maybe the big bang was some supreme alien booting up his super computer. :)
I was watching a space documentary last night on foxtel, a scientist was talking about the deep field hubble image.
You know the one with 2,500 galaxies, a beautiful picture.
He said he discovered that those galaxies were actually moving away from us at the speed of light.
Maybe if the universe is a simulation the creator might have to keep on increasing the complexity of things and changing the laws of physics.

You guys should check out Nick Bostrom

"This paper argues that at least one of the following propositions is true: (1) the human species is very likely to go extinct before reaching a “posthuman” stage; (2) any posthuman civilization is extremely unlikely to run a significant number of simulations of their evolutionary history (or variations thereof); (3) we are almost certainly living in a computer simulation. It follows that the belief that there is a significant chance that we will one day become posthumans who run ancestor-simulations is false, unless we are currently living in a simulation. A number of other consequences of this result are also discussed."

weasels words make his premises useless.

Individually we're made up of billions of little cells, those billions of little cells make 1 cell that is part of billions of little cells that make up the one cell that is this planet.

Tell em they're dreaming.

If this was true I don't imagine it would be as simple as a virtual reality/simulation that runs on some giant advanced server somewhere. It would be a kind of system we wouldn't necessarily be able to (yet) comprehend.

They say that by 2050 we will have the technology to be able to create simulations (like that of earth, in which characters would be able to grow mentally, physically, and live their own life, making their own choices)

So we're not too far away

I had a complex dream set in space once. Basically, what I got out of it was, that a black hole acts like a USB port, like on a computer, and you have someone or something on the outside use it, like how we insert a USB stick. So yeah, we're part of a simulation
