Iceman! LOL.

Caroline Wilson on 3AW just said that Cousins is heavily involved in drugs, hinted strongly at ICE.

Obviously felt outdone and ignored while Sheahan and that other bloke were making their 'revalations', had to get in on the issue with something even more 'sensational'.

She was jealous I broke the story first

Hope I get a byline :)

What is Methamphetamine-induced brain damage?

Hours after you’ve taken Crystal Meth the receptors in your brain start to turn off the natural production of dopamine. But unlike other stimulants like cocaine that allow the brain cells to re-capture & package dopamine, Crystal Meth does not! Instead the brain receptor cells respond by releasing an enzyme that destroys any extra dopamine. With repeated use over time these enzymes permanently destroy dopamine cells. This leads to chemical changes in the brain that affect the way it works. This condition is known as METHAMPHETAMINE-INDUCED BRAIN DAMAGE. And this is why CRYSTAL METH IS NEURO-TOXIC!

EVEN AS THE CRYSTAL METH DOES ITS DAMAGE,
THE BRAIN STARTS TO CRAVE EVEN MORE AS IT INCREASINGLY SHUTS OFF THE EFFECTS!

ONCE THE CRYSTAL METH HAS WORN OFF, THE DAMAGE TO THE BRAIN & CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM CONTINUE TO AFFECT YOUR EMOTIONAL STABILITY, LEAVING YOU CRAVING MORE & FEELING MOODY, DEPRESSED, ANGRY & IRRITABLE!

Heres caroline Wilsons article
Not much new info, but here are the interesting bits anyway.

Cousins, 28, whose substance-abuse problem had become an open secret in the football community

In recent weeks, he has broken up with his long-time partner Samantha Druce, a break-up that was not necessarily the catalyst for his latest meltdown, but came as a result of it. So desperate are Cousins' personal problems that his emotional state is dangerously fragile.

West Coast is reported to have urged him to seek rehabilitation, potentially over an extended period at a facility, a suggestion Cousins' family has been subtly pushing for several months.

AFL boss Andrew Demetriou, a close friend and former business associate of Mr Gooding's, yesterday referred to West Coast's "cultural problem" — the closest the AFL has come to discussing drug use and abuse among the team which has included the highly addictive amphetamine known as 'ice'.

The problem for the AFL — apart from the obvious issue of the drug culture which appears to have disproportionately infected some of its clubs — is the chilling fact that the most successful team in the competition has so openly flaunted its ongoing alcohol and substance abuse.
West Coast may have been woefully inept at dealing with the club's off-field issues and yet it has clearly succeeded in overseeing its champion team's on-field form and discipline — a paradox that has sent the message that you can, in some cases, take drugs, party hard, break the law and still win premierships.

If Cousins, Kerr and the recently departed Gardiner are repeat offenders, there is an equally disturbing pattern in the club's failure to address its social problems.
Tomorrow night, the AFL will hold its annual official launch in the knowledge that its drug problem is no longer an open secret but a public scandal that has brought down one of the game's greatest champions.
It will also suspect there is more to come.

discussing drug use would include all types and forms of drugs so to single out ice is just scare mongering . of course u would have to include it in any discussion on drugs more people are addicted to ice than to herion. its a serously dangerous drug and lets hope for bens sake that this isnt his drug of habit and that he can get back to resuming a normal life wheather that includes playing afl or not who cares as long as he can sort out what he needs to do

It is a scary drug. When we hide the facts it is just a "harmless unkown substance that makes you feel unbelievably good like you never imagined". We need people to know the facts because when you read them you'll likely never want to try it.

I spent some time on the islands of Oahu & Hawaii a couple of years ago. That place has just been devastated by Crystal Meth. I spoke to a charter boat captain who had lost members of his family to the drug and I mean lost as in they were gone. Stopped calling, stopped responding, just gone. The sad part was this guy wasn't raging or angry about it...just sad and resigned. As if this kind of thing happened to everyone and it was just something to talk about on a long trip.

I dread the day that I see this in my home town.

I hear trying to cure an ICE addiction is like trying to stop masturbating x 1000. So good luck there Benny!

Ice is a seriously ****ed up drug. Do not take it or associate with anyone that does. It destroys lives. Someone I know has dropped off the face of the earth because of Ice. Stopped living in his shared house, stopped contacting friends, stopped contacting family and left huge debts everywhere. No one knows where he is.

Check out the 4 corners story for more info -

So by the looks of things, it's the sort of drug which would allow you to keep running when other people felt the need to stop.

The AFL should investigate any club which, last year, won a lot of games after comig from a long way back. I can't think of any specific examples myself but I seem to recall there was a team which had an uncanny ability to run out games after their midfielders had a quiet first half. West something....

incorrect, you'd probably have a heart attack if you tried to run any great distance on ice, fact. Let alone the distances and stress these guys put their body through.
There is no way cousins (if he was taking amphetamines) would have taken them within a day or two of a game as he wouldn't have been abe to perform at the level he was.
