Overnight Ireland and Pakistan played out a tie in a one day international. Nothing too sensational about a tie, they happen from time to time.
This one was different as it was tied under Duckworth-Lewis, with the number of overs available to both teams the same and the scores different.

Match scores: Pakistan 5/266 (47 overs) tied with Ireland 5/275 (47 overs).
Rain delays came in the Pakistani innings. As their available resources, overs, were reduced mid-innings the required score was adjusted upwards. (Or something like that, the details of D/L always elude me.)

Has there been a tie under Duckworth-Lewis, or a tie with different scores before?

There's the scorecard for that. Classic South Africa.

It's amazing that the aus side were on their knees until Symond's "Be there at the end" innings.

Gilchrist, Hayden, Ponting, Martyn, Lehmann, Bevan, Symonds, Hogg, Bichel, Lee, McGrath.

That side from the final would have to be one of the better one day sides ever fielded.

Poor Ireland :(

Paul Stirling is a superstar in the making. He and Dockrell will be Ireland's backbone come their first Test match. I would have liked the ICC to find room for them in the Champions Trophy given they're so close by. At least they're getting these ODIs against Pakistan I guess, and one against England in September. Really hope they put up a good show in their 4-day match against Australia A - hopefully their County players are released for that one. Probably their most prominent longer-form match ever.

Hopefully Joyce is still around whenever that day comes. Would be a real shame if Ireland didn't play their debut test without him.

What odds do you reckon a Pakistani bookie would have given you for a D/L tie?
