I say trade several of our fringe midfielders who can't get a run, not to due ability but the ability of our core best.

I think that by trading Morrison, Chambers, Humm, Green and a few other could at least be more benficial at a club who are struggling to find a midfield and that we could at least get a fair dinkum KPP defender or 2 out of it.

Doyou think this is a good idea?

The Eagles have had several years to rectify their obvious problem, they have got a good list of kids, but now is the time to right the obvious wrongs.

I think our forward line has more chance of developing than our defence looking at our current options, a good defender or two would make the world of difference

Well for starters, there is a long way to go this season.

Secondly, trading blokes who can't crack a game in our team will not net us a "fair dinkum KPP defender or 2" - these are very rare in the game today, and now more than ever, Average Player + Average Player does not = Gun Player at the trading table.

You say we have a good list of kids, why not show faith in them rather than assuming they will fail and require replacing with ringers (yet you call them good?), you say the time is now - yet no trades will happen until the end of this season. Plenty of time for us to have a real idea of where the young players are - Darren Glass hasn't played this year, Quinten Lynch has shown something in his 5 games in the back half at AFL level, Beau Waters has been encouraging and Mark Nicoski started well last week - There's also Wirra and the likes of Adam Hunter and Chad Morrison, who we know can play the game.

It's too early in the season to be talking trades for gods sake.

Gotta agree with BJ and noodles. Unless a tall wants to come home (Hay/Gaspar), and we throw in a 1st rd pick, we're not likely to get a KPP for those guys you listed.

I say show faith in our current list! A lot of our key players are under 21, and will peak at the same time. Why thin our list for a KPP at their peak now (or worse, couple years past it)?

It just wouldnt happen. Morrison, Humm, Green and Chambers were the players you mentioned but none of them would get us anywhere near a quality KPP.

I still have faith in our young talls unlike a lot of other supporters. It's as if everyone wants them to turn into Lloyds and Tredreas overnight??
