Maybe someone in Israel had intel from Iran that the hospital was to be targeted soon/today like it was?

Some may call it luck, others would say it was experience and great crisis management. About 24 hours before ballistic missiles hit Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba on Thursday, Health Ministry Director-General Moshe Bar Siman-Tov made a dramatic decision that essentially saved dozens, if not hundreds, of lives: “Clear the surgery floor in the hospital – it’s not safe.” The staff did so. Some thought he was exaggerating. On Thursday, they all understood why.

At dawn, sirens wailed across the Negev as an Iranian missile slammed into the now-empty third-floor surgical ward.

Well, he did know there was an army base nearby.

Looks like Iran used it's older stock of missiles to test out Israel's defense, and are now using their more advanced missiles.

And I don't think they have played all their cards yet.

Meh. They didn’t even have the biggest explosion worldwide yesterday… that goes to Starship 36.

Massive miscalculation by Netanyahu.
IMO, the Israelis thought that everybody would just fall into line and join the war against Iran.

If there is no further escalation in Iran, where does that leave Israel?
Everyone from West to East is talking 2 State Solution.
We will find out just how powerful the Jewish lobby actually is, a 2 state solution is their worst nightmare and what they have fought against for 75 years.

you're an prime optimist or maybe an optimist prime...

Well, do they want parts of historic Judea with Jewish history, or do they just want as much land as they can get?

They want 100% of Judea and Samaria, Gaza and the Golan Heights. Putin wants Ukraine. Trump wants Canada and Greenland. China wants Taiwan. A lot of people and nations want things.

All of Israel/Palestine is about 28,000 km2. Not even half the size of Tasmania. You reckon either side really want to share it now? Even if 99.9% of Arabs and Jews don't want to kill each other, it's a tiny area in which the 0.1% can operate.

IMO a two state solution will never happen after the Gaza withdrawal and subsequent conflicts. A one state solution is possible, but it won't be a utopia.

They're not letting Palestine have their 1947 boundaries, so why should Israel get to keep theirs?

Why would they? That was 80 years ago and the Arabs rejected the partition plan in the first place. You don't get to lose territory in wars then get it back because "awww". Ask Germany. It's not like they agreed to the plan then Israel swooped in and took 2/3 of their agreed territory. Had the Arabs won there would be no Israel today and they would control 100% of the territory whether as a nation called Palestine or otherwise.

People keep peddling this ridiculous notion that all Palestinians 'just want a state', 'just want peace' etc. The 67 war had nothing to do with creating a state. The "67 borders" were when Gaza was annexed by Egypt and the West Bank by Jordan. Is that what people want? Egypt and Jordan don't. Before the partition it was Mandatory Palestine and before that it was the Ottoman Empire. Palestine as a sovereign state is a relatively modern concept, as Israel was 80 years ago. What state do you think the Palestinians want, today, in 2025? The 1947 borders are the best "two state" map for Palestinians, but you seem think Tel Aviv should be included so....

Hamas and Hezbollah bookend Israel because... they don't want Israel to exist. They aren't fighting for demarcation lines. They ultimately win, no Israel, no Jews in the region. They lose, there are still millions of Arabs, Sunnis, Shias etc. throughout the region. Hell there are 2m Arabs in Israel now. There are fewer than 1,000 Jews in Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza and Jordan combined.

Enjoying it?
I think Israel needs a beat-down. A savage one. Ideally I'd hope they just simply stop being c*nts and I wish Hamas would stop being c*nts in return but that's just so much wishful thinking isn't it? For a common humanity to win instead of the extremists?

So in the face of what they've done over the years I hope that Israel gets an almighty beat-down.

The only slightly surprising thing is that he would have the audacity to condemn anyone for destroying a hospital, after what the IDF has done to the Palestinian hospitals in Gaza.

But it is not surprising when one begins to comprehend the nature of this individual: a homicidal psychopath for whom lies and hypocricy are the completely natural state of existence.

October 7th caused Israel to attack Iran - is that seriously what you are saying?

Israel started this conflict. Israel attacked Iran completely unprovoked and in violation of international law.

I doubt it.
If the US wanted to directly bomb Iran it would have happened already.
The 1962 Cuban Missile crisis lasted 12 days before everyone decided to pack up and go home.

I would guess that Trump has been told by other leaders that the US is on its own if it starts a full blown war with Iran.
Is that why Starmer has said that Britain will be all in with Trump, if anything goes down.

Apparently most investigations into Israeli war crimes, including the ICC warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant, came from their own direct statements or social media posts.

Literally the first war crimes documented and prosecuted (well maybe never prosecuted) via TikTok

Funny statement from Iran

'A key Iranian body warned the US on Thursday that any intervention in support of its ally Israel would be met with a “harsh response”, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reports.

The Guardian Council said in a statement carried by state television:

"The criminal American government and its stupid president must know for sure that if they make a mistake and take action against Islamic Iran, they will face a harsh response from the Islamic Republic of Iran." '
