Just read the article in the age this morning, but it was very vague. I'm tipping its just another bull**** rumour, but what's the details?

Forget what unsubstantiated rumours are saying, it was this little gem that caught my eye. Hasn't Frank just returned from a month in Italy, during which we've been floundering. Now, having been home a week,and in the middle of further turmoil he goes on another holiday. Is this what passes for leadership at an AFL club?

It's not just Bomber who should be having a performance review!

I don't care if he, and other Board members are unpaid, the issue is that we elect them to run a successful footy Club. After 43 years of no flag I don't think that it's asking too much to have the Pres with hands on the wheel during the actual season!

I agree that maybe the timing of him being away was pretty ordinary but I was just replying to the other guy who seemed to be under the impression that he got paid to work for the club.

The buck stops with the Pres and when the club isn't travelling that well (which we're clearly not) then he needs to be in the right places doing the right things.

OK - we're clearly going around in circles here. We both probably can agree he should be down at Kardinia Park sorting out the mess which our club is in at the minute, and that his overseas jaunt was probably poorly timed. Yeah?
 
Not every president is there the whole season - quite a few take a break. After all, have you ever been to Europe after September - not great.

Heard some of the nmedia describing club presidents as millionaires with time on their hands - and some one corrected then to say they were millionaires with no time on their hands.

At least Frank hasn't accepted a job in another state, like Eddie.

I've been to Europe both in July and after September and I'd take after September every time. Too many American tourists there during the summer mate.
 
I don't understand the secrecy surronding this.

The "rumor" is in the public domain via mainstream media. Nobody is liable for slander or defamation for discussion of a newsworthy item.

The topic can and should be discussed within the confines of the already publicly available information.

If it can be discussed on radio, on TV and in newspapers, then it can be discussed here.

So, somebody be a good sport and paste one the PM's that went out explaning the situation.

I don't think we need him here at the moment. All this rubbish will just blow over and Bomber and the club have already come forward to say it's just all stupid rumour, so that should be enough. Rumour/slander addressed and dismissed, case closed, in my opinion.

Fair enough, but I for one think the rumour is useless and slanderous and while I know about it, I refuse to bring it to the open forum because discussing the details is a waste of time and if you love the club, why do something to hurt it or debase it?

I went to the UK in October and outside of London a lot of things were shut - I went to Orkney and found out what 'protestant work ethic' really means.
