Toovey and Richards need to stay.
I would delist Bryan.

Toovey YES...Gone see ya later....Never liked him....
Richards over Bryan please.....
Bryan aren't no superstar but at least he gets in there and gives it a really red hot go.....

Can't really think of who else to get rid of.....
Ppl like Holland, Lonie, Egan must perform this yr or l would show them the door....

I don't think we need any more backs at this stage....

B: Antony Wakelin Shaw

CHB: Maxwell Presti Harry O

With
Brown: the huge unit looking to develop further
Cox: who has played as a ruckman, and thus should be able to handle some bigger players
Lockyer: Played Back a fair bit this year
R.Shaw/Lonie/Stanley: If need be to take the mid sized

With Wakelin going next year we should consider picking someone like kepler bradley up in the psd

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO please not kepler bradley.....We only want quality at collingwood and he arent quality

On the subject of delistings, i saw that Adelaide got rid of Darren Pfeiffer. He's 20 years of age and was drafted at pick 17 in 2005 from Norwood ( Scotty Burns territory). Hasn't played a game yet, but they had huge wraps on him when he was drafted and they said he was playing pretty well for Norwood through the season. Wouldn't mind Picking him up in the PSD and giving him another go.

Would take him without blinking in the PSD. He cops a lot of crap on BigFooty, but he has plenty to offer for a PSD pick.

i cant really see lonie as a player to develop into a premiership team for us. i dont mind delisting him to give opportunities to someone else.
shame for a player who showed so much in season 1.

Just curious why no one is mentioning Danny Stanley when talking about delistings. Surely he is behind Cox, Cook and even Toovey. Does the club see him as some sort of "project player"?

Stanley was stiff to be dropped, particularly after a good game against the Swans, and then backed up with a consistent solid midfield game for Willie for the rest of the year averaging about 25 quality possessions. Was knocking right on the door towards the end and in the Prelim was stripped and ready in the rooms - if it had rained it was Stanley in, Rusling out. He's miles in front of the trio you mention.

Need to get out and see the troops more General!

There was discussion backward and forward about whether Toovey would make it, the no's where only just winning, then stepped out Toovey one night, and showed us maybe yes's that the "no's" were well and truley right, and Toovey was banished pretty much by Mick and the supporters that night.

Tooves played about 9 respectable games and 1 bad one. Not a bad ratio for a kid. There's nothing wrong with his courage either. He'll stay.

Well put General - Stanley would have to be behind the likes of Cox, Lonie and Cook. If they want to stay on the list after next year and be part of a premiership side - this has to be the season when they put their hand up and show something.

Collingwood would have to select the maximum number of rookies as possible. With the side fielding its own side in the VFL - 22 play ones, 22 play ressies. Add injuries to that - where do the other players come from?

Do we revert back to the good old days with Supp Lists or what was happening when I was 18, you got called up to fill in.

Stanley doesn't get mentioned as of all our kids he is the only one who has real inside clearance type ability. With Burns and O'bree on the other sides of their careers we are really short on inside players and whilst Stanley may be behind some of the outside players he is too important right now to let go of just yet.

Senior list

Out
Buckley
Clement
Licuria
Davies

In
Barham (father-son)
Clarke (rookie promotion)
Wood (trade)

Thats net only 1 lost player
Take Barham with our fourth pick (79) and that leaves us with two more to delist

Richards
Toovey

If we want to take Barham with our fifth pick (95) that leaves us with another player to delist

Lonie

If we want to take Barham with our sixth pick (96) God knows whos next on the block

maybe Iles

Rookie list
Clarke - promoted
Wellingham - retained
Nicholls - dropped
McAffer - no harm in retaining for one more year in a shallow draft

Dyas - brought in

Lonie and Iles safe. This isn't the year to be delisting players who are very good VFL players and at the very least decent AFL depth players, and replacing them with picks past 70.

I don't think Iles should be delisted, we need a few strong in and under players and heavy tacklers in the middle in the mold of scotty burns. Burns is unbelievable, and definitely still one of our 3 or 4 most important players, with the clearences he produces from sheer physicalty hitting, bumping and tackling, as well as his natural ability to find the ball. Given this will probably be his last year we need a ready made replacement, Iles is in the mold, reminds me of scotty when he first started in the mid 90's of the half back flank and back pocket, loves to tackle and hit, fairly quick, does all the team things and goes in and under.

What I think will happen:

Retired

Buckley
Clement
Licuria

Delisted

Richards
Davies (effectively)
Lonie

Drafted

Cameron Wood (effectively)
#31
#47
#63
Jaxson Barham

Elevated

Clarke

Now in addition to that, I think we should delist Toovey and promote Wellingham, and also delist Nicholls from the rookie. I'm not sure on MacAffer. That would mean we could rookie Dyas and still have at least two rookie spots available.
I agree 100% with you on this. :)

I tend to agree with you. I reckon we'll only delist two players - Richards and Toovey. However if they want to promote Wellingham, then somebody else will have to go.

the 4th powder puff girl Ryan lonie has to be delisted shorely , how many years do we hear people say give him this year to prove himself or say goodbye ? the last 4-5 years at least. Time to stop hanging on to players who are not up to it just like guy his delisting is 5 years over due.
Toovey skill lvl is just not up to it unless this changes he wont have a future at the club , great worker and good fitness but crap skills.

I agree 100% with you on this. :)
Thanks, but I'm not starting to think that Wellingham will get promoted, meaning another delisting has to occur. If I was right on Lonie being delisted, the last player to miss out would have to be out of Toovey/Holland by my reckoning.

Last year they promoted Toovey, Cox and... O'Brien? Only Nicholls was retained. To not promote Sharrod would be an indictment on him based on that. Of course theoretically there is more competition for list spaces now.

Fingers crossed it's Toovey. Hard to see a young guy get 10 games and then delisted in the same year though...

I can't see collingwood delisting holland...if he was fit this year....he would have played in the finals...we have no taggers...he is the only one that can shut down a bloke.

I hope the delistings are done this week sometime.

I would think that it is a trying time right now for the fringe players and coaching staff who need to make the decision on who is to go. We know what is happening with draft picks now and should make the decision sooner rather than later for the better of all concerned.

IIRC last year we delisted a number of players soon after trade week, then one or so more right before the final deadline.
