It's time to talk about Rookies

It's about the time of year where we start to consider the futures of our rookie listed players. Obviously Archard has gone sayonara but i believe strongly that our 3 remaining rookies are all up to AFL standard. I think in the next 5 years Turner, Gallman and McIntyre are all capable of lining up in our defensive 6 and are well worth hanging onto (possibly upgrading McIntyre) especially considering this years supposedly weak draft class.

Anyone else have any thoughts on the topic?

I've seen bugger all of Gallman so I won't comment on him.

James Turner has impressed me when I've seen him, but bloody hell he's skinny. I hope we can re-rookie him, because he has massive upside IMO.

McIntyre would be a certainty to be upgraded to the senior list in 2008 you would imagine.

McIntyre has been upgraded. Well, I thought he was.

Only for this year while someone is on the LTIL. We have to make the decision to upgrade him permanently in the off-season.

Thanks for clarifying that. I wasn't sure as to whether it was permanent or not.

McIntyre for the upgrade or at least retained depending on how difficult it is to make sufficient delistings. Gallman & Turner retained, solid players, and partially due to a weak draft.

 

[Campbell's Chunky]

Turner = Griffin of 04/05 (and probably still now). Good player with some genuine talent, just needs to put on the kilos.

Definetely worth keeping. His upside >>> Hing'es.
