Just got back from the hospital...not all bad news...not all good news.
The good news...He has had scans and tests, etc, no serious damage, a bit of internal bleeding and he will be very sore for a while, will have to wear a neck brace for a week or two.
The bad news...no training for about 4 weeks, rehab maybe another 4, then match conditioning maybe another 4, so might not be till mid season till he's on the track again. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

BTW, it wasn't a head clash, COX had nothing to do with it. John was slung in a tackle and hit Martin CLARKE'S shoulder.

I gather they are being very cautious after such a heavy knock to a relatively young player.
All the best to John in recovery and I hope to see him soon running around again soon.

Glad to hear theres no major health concerns, afterall that's more important than how soon he can be back on the field.

It is a shame that he has to endure such a setback. hopefully he can take it in his strides and bounce back on his feet soon enough. He's still young so he's got plenty of time to get back into it.

thanks for the update.

Good luck to your son JAJH. It's a terrible set back for him but it at least there's positive news that he will be back. We don't need no Caracella curse!!

What is it with rookies taking out senior players in preseason training? Last year Harry O'Brien smashed Rusling!!!!

Pretty poor news from JA - a three month setback he doesnt need. On the bright side, I guess it gives Brown Toovey and Reid an opportunity though. If theres one thing we have, its depth with our young defenders.

The CFC website said that he will in hosipital for another 24 hours & back in full training in 3 weeks. So he will miss most of the NAB Cub but he will be able to play in the practice matches later on in March. So he has had a great preseason to date, so imagine he would be available for senior selection in the early rounds of the season, say rnd 3 or 4.. A minor setback, but nothing to serious to derail his season.

Just back from Hospital this afternoon, his spirits are very high, had a stream of well-wishers and team mates throughout the day and probably more this evening. I did pass on to him all the wishes that you guys expressed and believe me, he DOES appreciate it. He said he slept well, neck & back feel a little better and maybe, depending on recovery, could be back within 4-8 weeks. The neurosurgeon will be seeing him again later today which will offer a clearer picture as to recovery time, etc.
