His next target should be breaking Stynes' record of consecutive games at the one club.I think crispy needs a rest
I agree. I was just appeasing the "Resters"His next target should be breaking Stynes' record of consecutive games at the one club.
It didn't work for Chamberlain and it won't work for you.I agree. I was just appeasing the "Resters"
I think they know "what if" - Dayne Zorko is the only person who was on their list in the 2014 season that even arguably wouldn't have been better for them to give to us than Crisp. But I can tell you that if you swapped Zorko and Crisp on GF day 2023, Brisbane probably win that game.Greatest set of steak knives ever!! Brisbane must be wondering what if.

A Crisp 250 - from 'Steak Knives' to Collingwood premiership great
A fan favourite at Collingwood, Jack Crisp reaches game 250 on Sunday against GWS.www.sen.com.au
I like the idea that in this scenario Pendles would likely be past 450.Yep, can see Sidebottom and Pendles chairing him off for his 300th in a row.
No disrespect to Jim Stynes whatsoever here, however even equaling the record, I consider Crisp has actually surpassed it now.
In Stynes defence, he didn't have the access to sports science and the facilities on the level that Crispy does, but he also didn't have concussion protocols. He didn't risk suspensions for simple football acts because someone's head was knocked slightly. He didn't play in an era of clubs being extra cautious of players playing with soft tissue injuries and excessive scans. He also didn't play through a global pandemic.
In the modern era, it would be significantly harder to play any significant number of consecutive games than it was during Stynes' career for those reasons.
Well done Mr Consistent! He's clearly had a lot of luck but he also does a lot of hard work and displays a lot of discipline with his body.
Thats why my games record stood at 4I think he's soft. Clearly doesn't push himself hard enough on night's out.
that's 4 more than I've managed lolThats why my games record stood at 4
Comparisons are odious but you could easily say Stynes racking up consecutive games as a ruckman in that era was a much harder thing to do. Or even McHale's 191 straight. He managed that over 12 seasons - same as Crisp - which included a World War(as did Jack Titus' mark of 202).No disrespect to Jim Stynes whatsoever here, however even equaling the record, I consider Crisp has actually surpassed it now.

My point was in fact, that they don't compare. The two stints are in very different eras of our game, and each has had different hurdles to deal with.Comparisons are odious but you could easily say Stynes racking up consecutive games as a ruckman in that era was a much harder thing to do. He gets enough rest at nightI just realised crispy hasn't had a rest for over 200 games. I'm not sure resting is the way to go anymore
He got 3 Brownlow votes during that interviewa few weeks back Crips was interviewed post game and he mentioned he had a few hammy and calf niggles but go through them. pretty crazy situation in the modern game.
Surely rests would count in your consecutive games streak? They're really solid constributions.I just realised crispy hasn't had a rest for over 200 games. I'm not sure resting is the way to go anymore
