The same Saad who was lucky last week not to have 7 kicked on him?
Saad was clueless last week... he kept giving Elliott space and backing his closing speed... only issue was Elliott is fast himself and once you give him a step with his ability to leap at the ball you dont have much chance of getting a fist in. Terrible game from Saad who's usually pretty good defensively

Some people just love going against the flow.
I'd be surprised if he's disposal efficiency, direct turnover and clanger numbers weren't at the wrong side of the leader board for the club this season, I mean we are all happy to bash the Treloars and Phillips of the club for their decision making and use of ball under pressure but it seems but not for others.

Some people only wee what they want to see.

It's a big church and room for all denominations but seriously run and carry is a large part of footy nowadays so you run what you brung.

Treloar in particular has cleaned up his disposal in the last few weeks as he has been able to concentrate on a purely outside role with the return of Tay and the inclusion of Rhino to handle the coal face duties.

Line breaking is the name of the game going up field to break up defensive structures and both Phillips and Treloar play their parts in this. Every club has their foot soldiers and Phillips is just that, a hard working foot soldier to do the mule work and allow his more talented brothers scope to create.

Agree - I really do think that for Crisp to become 'elite' or AA in this role he's playing he needs to make better decisions and clean up his disposal. Most of his other traits in that role are right up there but if we want him to take that Hurn, Houli or Stewart place in the AA team then he does need to step it up again.

I agree Hurn is elite but I am not paying Houli who isn't accountable for his man. Easy to get cheap kicks when you don't play on anyone.

See comparison below with Houli........keep in mind Crisp has played on ball a few times this year. I think you're judging Crisp very hard.

Houli's rebound and use of the footy this year was exceptional. I'd be interested to see stats on goals kicked by each of their opponents, I'd still think Crisp would've had his fair share. I liked Crisp in the middle, played more a defensive midfielder role but I did see on a number of occasions he lost his man when playing defender. Houli's numbers and AA selection comes on the back of his MCG record and run of games there late in the season. His numbers at the MCG are incredible.

I love Crisp, he's one of my favorite players and I watch him closely, particularly this season as he was in my SC team from start to finish and probably why I am harsh but that being said I did watch him very closely this season.

It's funny that with all those names thrown around back in the day that Crisp is probably going to have the best career and far.better than the.majority of them.

The only comparable player is beams himself.and he's been injury in prone and had mental health battles... I'd take crisp.

I have the suspicion he has reached his cieling although will be rapt if he can continue - either way he has been a wonderful steak knives.

He has improved every year...…..not much more you can ask for IMO.

The best bang for buck recruit we have had in a very long time.........he still hasn't missed a game since crossing over from the Lions.

Some people only wee what they want to see.

Players who contribute in other ways, and I'd include both Crisp & Treloar in that cohort, earn themselves greater latitude.

Friday night was my first live game of the year.
- Crisp really stood out for his speed from the contest in the midfield and breaking the lines when he was playing back.
- Phillips, some of his kicks into FW 50 and one shot on goal weren't great. He's not fast but he just keeps motoring, his ability to keep moving from opening bounce to final siren is ridiculous. If he cleaned up his disposal efficiency and decision making into FW 50 he'd be elite.

Could we take a moment to pay credit where credit is due for Jack Crisp.

Sure I get it that the club has fluffed a few of its lines over the last decade but one of the things it has got right is the sniffing out from Brisbane of this fella from Myrtleford. He was good on the weekend, and has played just under 150 games, missing very little. He has actually played more games for the Pies already than Dayne Beams. I wouldnt describe him as one of the games megastars, but he turns up week in week out and gets a lot of things right.

Thanks Crispy. I reckon you're a dead set Monty for 200 Pies games, and may give 250 AFL games a nudge.

Once you are up in those numbers, the deal which brought you to Collingwood will look like one of the all time trades.

147 consecutive games, including all 141 games Collingwood has played since he crossed from Brisbane. Incredible given our luck.
He's a beast. Never takes a backward step either, and runs all day. He'll be at 200 games before we know it
