How does the Coleman Medal work though - didn't think they took goals kicked in finals into consideration. Whoever is in front after round 23 wins the medal. Don't know why the stats include goals kicked against the Bullies. Presume Kennedy finished on 80 goals in Home & away then, not 82 as shown on the stats sheet.

Tiges might have had a pretty poor year and nobody is more dissapointed than me about that I can assure you, but I can't think of any of our players, let alone a Tarzan, under the spotlight for dropping their bundle running back with the flight on a regular basis. Care to enlighten me ? We played 10 kids this year and whilst only a couple of them will make it, none of them are squibs.

Not hard to believe coming from an eagles supporter.

I reckon there is hope with Darling. Has rightly been labelled as soft but he could turn it around.

Are you basing your opinion on goals scored, ignoring his midfield stats - most Melbourne media types are unaware that he is not playing as the goalkicker that bagged 12 a few years back. I think he has earned his keep.

Holds onto em OK running back with the flight. 2 time Coleman. Couple of All Australians. Contested mark king inside 50 over many seasons. Takes hangers. Wears his heart/passion on his sleeve but hardly a wimp. Is that the best you can do ?

JD is a good player but he has an issue with squibbing it. Change if environment might do him good.

Jack is east of our worries. he might make a few critical errors in a few big games but he at least shows up or tries to right his wrongs. We have a few in our side that go missing in big games. Jack would have been one of better players last week.

I an waiting for a coach to start to come 360 and start reverting to Pagans Paddock. Any side with a heavily stocked and talented forward line could surely capitalise on the inability of an opposition to push back in defence and get caught out defending too heavily.

Freo have been doing this for the last few years. But every time they look up field they have no one to kick to.

I feel bad for him because he has, overall, played well in recent years but glaring ****ups in his last games are all that are talked about in the off season. A couple of very long Summers in a row for Jack.

If we make the finals next year, you can guarantee he will be nervous AF.

Facts have no role here.

Talented youngsters similar to Darling in age but with less goals over the season just finished, and have never reached Darling to date career bests are held in much higher regard.

Would be the best forward at a bunch of clubs.

Elliot yeo is a defender and could be an all Australian defender .....not a midfielder

In many ways Elliot Yeo's confidence has declined because he's benign tries in a position he's simply not capapable of holding down

For mine, Darling is someone I would love to have at the Hawks, good overhead mark, great kick for goal, strong in contested marks. Great size and strength. He's a perfect CHF in my opinion and is only 24 years of age. Massive upside. I honestly think he needs a few sessions on the couch with a sports psychologist to get him believing he can be anything he wants to be. Do this and potentially watch him dominate for years to come!

In 2013, Hayden Ballyntyne put in one of the worst Grand Final performances in the last 30 years. It was genuinely comical, and I thought he might bare the scars of that day for the remainder of his career.
But in 2014 he had his best year, and was selected to the All Australian team.

Right now, Jack Darling would be embarrassed, but he has the potential to let this game fuel him to his best season next year.
If he's anything like Ballantyne, he'll embrace it get better because of it.
