Stats wont show you missing sitters from in front of goal unfortunately. Hey I think Lecras is a good player, but there's a very real misconception that he's always been an accurate kick. He had about 1 good year but since misses sitters, as does Chris Maye
Think you need to have anither good look at Le Cras previous record as he certainly has had a lot more than 1 good year as you say.

I reckon there is hope with Darling. Has rightly been labelled as soft but he could turn it around.

But Lecras is cooked. Surprised he wasn't cut with the other 6.
'Hope'?

You'd think he was a spud or something reading comments like this. Very good player who would be a valued member of every single team in the comp.

Incredible coming from a Richmond supporter:rolleyes:
Yeah because who the poster supports is really relevant to their opinion

Darling is a big bloke that plays like a complete and utter fairy, he's a total embarrassment.

Why does he always throw his head back and fall on the ground at the slightest bit of contact? His playing for free's against the Bulldogs was ridiculous.
It's become a bit of a habit and even when there is a genuine free kick the umpires aren't paying due to his antics, so in my opinion think that he's over doing it now just to get the free kicks that he is deserved if you get my drift. He definitely needs to erase this out of his game though.

I really want this to go away. I get the logic in getting him as a 12 month ruck insurance policy but he genuinely looks cooked. And hasn't rucked more than a couple of minutes foryears.

We already have a young Fraser McInnes as an undersized dud ruckman option, and Paul Johnson still runs around for East Perth usually getting more hitouts than Giles etc. Just pick him up.

It doesn't sound like the best list management move. If you want a Lycett cover, get a ruckman. Not an over the hill kpf who helped in the ruck some time ago

Same as Thomas. They have burnt the umps and now its pay back.

Darling has all the physical attributes you'd want, and can obviously perform. It's between the ears for him I reckon, I'd be keeping a player like that. They'll need him next year, no Nic Nat, Lycett potentially missing part of the year, and Le Cras dropping off in output. Getting rid of Darling leaves Kennedy far too exposed. He would get double teamed every week, at least with Darling you need to put a decent defender on him.

I just read he is only 21? Wow! He has an entire career in front of him, writing him off or trading him might be a little bit premature?

Jack Darling is 24...

I don't see a lot of West Coast but has he fallen foul of this stupid current idea of playing mobile key forwards up the ground?
I an waiting for a coach to start to come 360 and start reverting to Pagans Paddock. Any side with a heavily stocked and talented forward line could surely capitalise on the inability of an opposition to push back in defence and get caught out defending too heavily.

He's 24, which is still quite young but the problem is his development has stagnated since his second year.

What sort of output are you expecting from a second forward?

We want a mobile ruck/forward to be our #2. Naitanui and Lycett works, as does Naitanui and Giles to a lesser degree. Giles and Lycett in tandem doesn't work as well. If North had another Goldstein or Melbourne another Gawn or Adelaide another Jacobs they'd arguably not get a game. You get more from those guys rucking 80% of the time and Brown/no one/Jenkins doing the rest and adding more around elsewhere.

But yeah Petrie isn't the right guy for this role (in 2017 - 3-4 years ago maybe) nor is he the right guy to be a back-up #1 if Lycett/Giles go down injured. I think McInnes (who I don't think is AFL standard - too small to ruck, too slow/ordinary to be a key forward) would be more effective than Petrie in 2017.

Not really. Their are plenty of key forwards who are elite by the age of 24. Darling is not one of them.

Second time

What sort of output are you expecting from a second forward?
