I reckon the game was already over everyone knew it. Pulled out of the contest, fair call I think. If the game was close I'm sure he would have launched at it.

Jack Darling isn't perfect but I reckon if he was on the market then nearly all teams would be very interested. He's a good to very good player with some flaws to work on. Still I any club would dream of having a guy like him as their 3rd tall forward with his defensive pressure and marking ability. Most would be delighted to even have him as their 2nd key tall. I know i'd have him at Essendon in a heartbeat.

Also Eagles side is generally carried by their forward line rather than their midfield so his efforts have to be evaluated in that context. If he was playing for Sydney, GWS or Bulldogs I reckon he'd be even better. Plus a lot of ball goes through Kennedy who has a strong argument for being the best forward of the last 4 years (along with or some would say just behind Franklin).

He's got the frame and pretty boy face to be an absolute gun footy player and marketing dream for the Eagles but for every piece of gold he produces there's an equally stinky nugget of shit. I remember in his first few seasons he would take a strong pack mark and the commentators would talk him up as the next Wayne Carey then he'd kick it out on the full. Too many incidents like that in the last few seasons in my opinion. Id trade him. He's Jason Ball 2.0. He is for sure over sexxed in my imagination with his giant white hog just running around Perth night clubs swinging that thing around like fat rubbery police baton. Maybe a slow down of the pussy chasing and ninja training and more time with a kicking coach and he will do well at another club.

Joe's graph is on the rise while Darling has stagnated. Daniher kicked 43 goals in a team decimated due to the suspensions where he was their only real forward option, if he improves his kicking a bit he could kick 55+ next year. I wouldn't be complaining if my team had Joe Daniher, he is up there with Hogan as a player of the future.

Dunkley was miles away and stopped because even if darling didn't shit himself he'd never have impacted the contest without giving away a 50. He wasn't in the contest to pull out

A weaker kick doesn't explain simple misses from 30m out though. He's like Chris Mayne, had 1 good season (accuracy wise), then everyone thinks he's a star, but realistically, beyond the 1 season he's never been a good kick at goal
