This is fair. Darling does seem to choke on high pressure shots in finals. He's played some great big games and even a couple of top notch finals, but he's had some stinkers.

However, the game was lost in the midfield. Though WC defence has been absolutely shite the last few rounds. Barrass had a bad patch of form, but McGovern was awful tonight. He's usually WC best defender after Sheppard in big games.

Pretty ordinary again tonight when his team needed him. Was like a deer in the headlights again early setting the tone in that first quarter. 2 simple dropped chest marks that could of been goals which would of settled the eagles down , then nearly missed his foot when given yet another Joe the Goose in the square. Eagles Wouldn’t of fallen so far behind and when they did hit their straps instead of drawing level , they may have had a match winning lead.

Oh well until next year. Can’t wait to see him beat up on ordinary teams again. Will miss it over summer

He would be the best player on the Dees list.

Great thing is even if Kennedy hangs up the boots we have Oscar Allen and to a lesser extent Jarrod Brander ready to slot straight in.

On topic, his debut All Australian just adds to the legend ever since he was rumoured to be receiving sexual favours in a tent. Hope he wins more AAs and premierships (perhaps even jag a Coleman) and retires a 300 game one club player.

No rumours mate, I went to his school and I can confirm. Got expelled for it essentially haha. On a side note, gotta love the captain hindsight's coming for Darling tonight after a relatively quiet game. Fact is he's been a bloody good player since his first year and has maintained that level ever since. He is a victim of his own consistency because people say he never reached his full potential when in reality he's been performing since his first season and has improved, only marginally each year when some players take 3/4 years to develop then explode the next year so everyone takes notice. He's a bloody good player and the Eagles got a steal at pick 26 thanks to his off field behaviour. Would love him at the Saints.

Great season by Jack, really stepped up to take control of our forward line. Most goals in a season for him, stood up on a lot of occasions. Well deserved All Australian.

Good effort to get 3 goals today against a very good defence with little support.

Hopefully continues on with it next year. Another 55 goal season will be critical with JJK near the end.
