I think recent history's shown that if your picking key forwards, you either want to pick them really early (buddy, riewoldt, pav) or you want to pick them up later as project players who have the raw ingredients to be something (Tippett) but who haven't quite put it all together yet, which seems to be the case for Jack. Let him develop for the next couple of years at least before we go calling him a spud ffs.

Project player.

He's got pace and is apparently a good mark. Also 200cm+ I think, so if he makes it he'd be very hard to match up on.

Good to see the idiots on this board are already writing him off. Remember when we all said Garland was a hack after about 3 games? FITZPATRICK HASN'T EVEN PLAYED AN AFL GAME FFS.

Im actually really excited by Jack Fitz. Was highly rated prior to his CFS issues so much so that was considered a potential first rounder. Give him time to get it all back on track. He could really suprise!

The club was quite open about rating Butcher as the only KPF and as others have said, McKenzie agreed to stay on the rookie list so JF is truly a free hit.

His kicking is a real worry though. We can only have so many Spencer's...

Speculative late pick in a shallow draft. We were able to pick him up because McKenzie agreed to stay on the rookie list one year longer so effectively he's a bit of a free hit. Definitely a project player.

Would be perfect if we could swap their spots for a couple of years.

He was rated very highly a year ago though - I think some people were talking top 10. I hope he surprises us all.

I was reading my membership mag (that turned up yesterday, with a membership for Casey but no MFC card ) that said the Fitz has already put 5 kg's on since joining the club and that Bails is very impressed by the volume of work he is putting in. Given it was printed in Feb (?) he could well be more by now.

BUT it really sounds like the kid is dying to be an AFL footballer :thumbsu:

That's an amazing effort considering he hasn't even put in a full pre-season.

Sounds like a very determined young man.

I saw him drive out of the carpark after the Collingwood game and I can assure you, based on his car, he doesn't have a front loaded contract.

Haha, that's good. When you're a P plater you have to have shitbox, it's part of growing up. P platers in BMW's and Mercs are just w***ers.

I think he had a Daewoo Lanos but don't quote me on that.

I'm surprised that such a big man could fit into such a small car.

I also felt old noticing that he was on red P plates (I'm on green).
