Are the groins still an issue, they can be horrible injuries to get over when its more a wear and tear overuse thing. It could definitely be making him slow and not as potent with his kicking.

Not trying to make excuses but players don't suddenly lose pace, agility or kicking penetration if there isn't some form of injury they are managing.

He definitely looked slow, which invited additional pressure.

I think Bergman is injured too.

Remember those early days of Robbie gray when he always seem to be carrying a niggle of some sorts, he was still good but it actually took the year off with the acl to get all his overuse injuries right and after easing back into it in 2013, absolutely exploded from 2014 onwards.

I'm not saying that luko is anywhere near Gray's level but sometimes we don't know the full story.

Dixon got smashed towards the end of 2024 from every supporter but he was carrying multiple injuries and then got a bout of whooping cough and yet everyone thought he suddenly lost the ability to run.

I want to see Josh Carr and not Hinkley work with the List Management team.

I don't think Carr will be looking to get Soldo but he will be wanting young talent from the draft or trading.
I still don’t believe the coach has control on who we draft.
I’d say he has some input on what type of players he requires.
I believe the recruitment team handle that because it’s their job.
The list was built by Davies and co.
Unfortunately the co is still there and I don’t trust them to get it right.

I don't 100% know but it would be bizarre if the coach doesn't have a fair whack of input into the List Management.

If I was the coach, it would be one of the main areas I would have my tendrils in. Player talent and the type of players you like is super important because you have a certain type of gameplan that demands certain players. Think those Hawks teams and their kicking skills.

Supposedly Hinkley picked Joe Berry.

I like Aliir and he's been AA but I like my key defenders to be able to defend one on one, kick well and one grab. He's a very good player but he wouldn't fit with how I would want my backline to function. However, a guy like Luke Trainor I like.

I wouldn't have picked Berry because he didn't impress me in the championships and I hold them higher than local play among other reasons.

I hope Carr has a very strong say, well not a strong say but a very good working relationship with the List Management guys.

I hope you are right, Willsy.

This isn’t something we could afford… Our medical department has a bit to answer for here. Basically didn’t miss a game through injury in 5 years at Gold Coast. We have one of the worst injury lists in the afl this year. Hope they up their game.
We have 1 hamstring and 2 groin injuries

The rest are basically unavoidable
