The only positive about my day yesterday.

Made his league debut for Sturt yesterday and was AWESOME. Smooth mover, clean hands, lovely kick, tough, works both ways, not afraid to get his knees dirty.

Awesome talent, best i have seen come from the club.

I wondered how he was travelling. I think Melbourne will pick Scully and Trengove 1 + 2. The positive i can take from that is Morabito will be available at pick 3.

And ignore Scully!?!?

Despite what I want, I reckon Morabito is almost a lock in for our first pick regardless. He has that "potential" thing that often happens with pick 3 that will override all other common sense.

Lucas looked silky-smooth moving yesterday, albeit he was hardly sighted after half-time.

Hang on... Based on last night's effort, we will earn ourselves the spoon and get pick 2, not 3. :o

Who would you take with pick 2?

If we win the spoon why wouldn't we get Pick 1, plus a Priority? Please explain

The draft order is as follows

priority picks for winning 4 or less games in 2 consecutive seasons
first round
priority picks for winning 4 or less games in a season
2nd round
3rd round
etc

So based on the current ladder we'll have pick 3 (after Melbourne and WC take their priority picks) even though we are 16th.

It's unlikely that we'll win anyway but it's in Fremantle's longterm interest to lose to Melbourne and WC, and hopefully the Demons pick up another win along the line to get to 5 wins.

From a pure business point of view, this is the best possible outcome. My heart tells me otherwise though :(

Let's say melbourne have pick 1 and 2 and take Scully/Trengove. Who would you take after that?

Lets say Melbourne win two more games and we get pick 1.
Morabito doesn't even come into the picture, we take Scully.

BTW on their run home Melbourne play the other 3 bottom sides i believe, not out of the question.

I know that their fans want them to win and all that, but what would Melbourne gain out of beating us and WC? I think the chance of having 2 of the top 3 picks will be too good for them to refuse
