If Lynch covered 7m in 4/30ths of a second, it means he could run the 100 metres in about 2 seconds flat. That looks about 4 metres (two tall player's heights) which means that he can do the 100m in 4 seconds.

Maybe my maths is off, but I think that is longer than 4/30ths of a second, or both players are closing on each other rapidly.

Didn't say that mate. They covered about 7m total. Was talking about viney reacting to the oncoming 200kg of players.

Do not forget the ball was bouncing in dispute up until that first frame, less than a second before they collided.

Gerard Wheatley, Robbo, Dermott B, and Mark Thompson all disagree with you, and in the space of 2 minutes. Imagine how many more disagree with your offended opinion.
Not about opinion every case with a major head injury this year has had a minimum of 2 weeks

Not at all. I already said it is not worthy of going to the tribunal. I don't make the rules. The precedent has been set.

Viney didnt bump him, If Viney had bumped him Lynch would be unconscious
That was Viney bracing for contact and I wont be told any differently by anyone

The guy has a broken jaw and the vision clearly shows contact to his head. Not arguable at all.

Bullshit. It is inconclusive. Get over yourself.

Not one of the panel on AFL360 tonight believes that there was any contact to the head and they back this up with video to demonstrate their point.

You said that the 4 frames equal 4/30ths of a second. I measure 4 metres (probably less) between the players. You are saying that Viney is more or les not moving, fine. So one player is covering 4 metres of ground in 4/30ths of a second. Extrapolate that and in one second he is covering 30 metres. Not possible.

I can see that for sure. Lynch wasn't unconscious, he merely got a broken jaw…on the side of the face where Viney bumped him.

The broken jaw is inconclusive? How so? If it wasn't Viney that broke it, then how did it happen?

Have you seen Jack Viney play? He is as tough a kid as there is going in the league. Had he wanted to Iron out lynch he wouldnt have gotten up on his own

Who knows but you cannot prove that it was broken because Viney collected him high. The force of the collision threw his head back into Georgio's from what I can see but there is no evidence that Viney hit Lynch high at all.

I love Jack Viney's style. I have no interest in him getting matches. A) it won't assist the Crows in any way, and B) it used to be good football, until the AFL decided to shed all common sense.

According to another poster, the jaw is broken on the left hand side where he was bumped from. That would hold up in a court of law nevermind the AFL tribunal.

For the record, most people on this thread don't think he should be suspended, myself included.

My gut instinct tells me that Im going to be very angry tomorrow night when the verdict comes down, However for the good of the game I hope he is cleared

How would it hold up in a court of law professor?

You can't actually prove that this collision broke the player's draw.

Nice try Columbo.

Okay, time a few people pipe down and remind themselves they're not on Bay 13 before they hit 'submit'.

Enough of the trolling and name calling. No more warnings.

I dont think he should go... I didnt think gia or fyfe shoulda got weeks but dougie shoulda got a couple and did.
The rules are shit.
Whether or not he braced or bumped i dont think will come into the mrp decision.
His shoulder hits the head and breaks the jaw... Causing lynchs head to cannon back causing two concussions to two players. This was not the intention of viney.
Another thing is that lynch was already being tackled and i think they will view this as lynch being in a vulranble position (no spellcheck on tapatalk).
Should viney go... No its meant to be a mans game.
Will he go... Yes welcome to the AFL in 2014

Read it again you toolbag.

Viney had about 4 of those frame to react to Lynch gathering the ball. Lynch and Gregiou clearly covered at least 7m running towards the ball. Are you re-tarded* (in light of the Age article today, I mean that purely in the sense that you are a fool, not mentally of physically handicapped.)
Excuse me, keep your knickers on dear. You claim that 4 of those frames is 4/30ths of a second, is this correct? My mistake, there are 6 frames.

The players in these frames start at about 4 metres apart and finish together. To travel 4 metres in 6/30ths of a second means that the players are covering 20 metres per second. That means they are doing 100m in about 5 seconds.

Are you still following this? Read it again slowly. I am questioning whether or not those 6 frames represent the 6/30ths of a second you claim they do. I would sugest they don't.

Two players collide, one gets up with damage to his jaw he didn't have before they collided. How difficult is that? Even with inconclusive video you could come to that conclusion.

How do you think his jaw was broken? Impact to the chest sent a shockwave into his head shattering his jaw? His head colliding with the player behind him caused the jaw on the other side of his head to break?
