We used Dean Gore to get Danger. Maybe the the big overweight fella in the third row of the cheer squad would be enough for Hopper?
Classic example of a club's supporters wanting a young gun because let's face it he has a lot going for him, yet under valuing what he is or should be worth. We obviously have very different valuations and that's cool. As a Carlton fan I'd be happy to give up something between 10-15 for Hopper.

The Dangerfield trade is bordering on the worst in history for the D&T board. Because it so undervalued him, people point to it as an example of how you can get one of the top players in the competition for not much, ignoring every single other example of trades. There needs to be a Dangerfield's Law version of Godwin's Law. The same applies to Tippett and the PSD.

100% agree on your estimation of Hoppers worth. Last comment was very much tongue in cheek and fully aware the go home factor was fully in play with Danger. Personally I'd love to see Hopper in A cats Guernsey next year.

Tigs with 2 x 1st rounders and would surely have a sniff around, pick in the mid teens about right, maybe slightly unders, but if he nominated us might get it done.

Can never have enough tough inside mids and we need one ready to go, not a kid coming out of TAC.

According to the GWS Board's most informative source, a mid/late 1st rounder would probably suffice for Hopper if he chooses another Club. Which he thinks he will.

It would be horrible list management to trade a first for another inside mid after you traded a first and second last year for Prestia and Caddy. Surely you have more pressing needs.

I don't want him at Geelong for the same reason.

Perfect fit for the tigers list. Particularly if Martin decides to go. Think RFC should be up to their nuts in pursuing Hopper personally.

Can't be as bad as ours

Surely Heppell is an "elite inside player" as well? Not sure I understand your logic that Hawthorn don't need Hoppper but Essendon do?
Heppell elite inside player. That's the funniest thing I have read all year, he runs around in circles like a sheep dog.

Richmond may have 2x 1st rd picks now but clubs will bid a 1st rd pick on Naish as F/S therefore pushing back one of those picks into rd2

Possibly. Not sure we will match it though. Outside flanker isn't our priority.

Inside / out mids and KPP's are though.

Although the romance could take over.

Trade period happens before the draft. This gives us more incentive to trade our first rounders if anything.

Having 5 first round draft picks is irrelevant if the player in question doesn't wish to play for your club.

Remember Deledio didn't decide he wanted to play for GWS until Richmond pointed him in that direction during trade week when Geelong couldn't get the deal done.

Maybe Geelong won't be able to get a deal done again and GWS will point him our way? or at least to a club with one first round pick this year...

Won't leave
Had pictures of Deledio on his wall growing up

North had inquired about hopper. Hopping to package up pick 2 and 20 for Kelly and Hooper. A fair deal and hopefully GWS do right by both kids as they want to return to Melbourne and both are North supporters.

Na the news around here is Hopper isn't interested in North.

I know I often struggle to pick satirical posts versus serious posts on this board, but this has to be satirical. Right?

It wasn't quite like that but I can see your point nonetheless.

I get where you are coming from but comparing a 20 year old with a 29 year old isn't exactly an apples and apples comparison. Reality is Geelong could have dealt on Deledio if they were determined enough to but it's a big call for a list manager to give up early picks for a player pushing 30 (and when you look historically Wells prefers to bring in players aged 24-26 and will only bring in players older than that if they are pretty cheap) because of the potential to not get a lot of games out of the player whereas it's much less a big call for a recruiter to give away a first rounder for a 20-21 year old (providing he thinks that player is good enough) as he is more likely to get 200 games out of said player, it's an easier sell for a heap of reasons.

As for Hopper (who personally I hope we don't go after as I don't see that he fills a need for us) if Geelong wanted to do that deal they have a first rounder to trade as does your club and most clubs. I can't really think of a Victorian club that doesn't have the currency to get him, so it will really just come down to his choice of nominating where he wants to go and he will probably get there.

How exactly is pick 2 and 20 good for Kelly and hopper?

GWS hoping to draft a young player with pick 2 to turn out as good as Kelly is at his age? Not sure that's a good deal if I'm GWS.
