Only heard Hopper.I have heard this as well but Hopper will be packaged with Dev Smith - to allow Kelly to sign a long term deal
2017 2nd Round + 2018 1st Round - would that interest GWS
That's good then. Coz id be surprised if we even let flu shots anywhere near the club for the foreseeable futureI'm very very sorry but Hop's won't be going to essendon because he's scared of needle's

Both worth one each.
Nah, not reallyThats Way overs for both
We will have to agree to disagree and find out in trade periodNah, not really
Im all for getting Hopper for a 2nd round pick.We will have to agree to disagree and find out in trade period
they got Dangerfield for a 1st & 2nd and some change, all because they dealt a 1st for Henderson firstSo potentially Geelong is looking at Hopper, Smith, and Ablett coming into the side for 2018. If they can pull that off with the commodities they have I will be awestruck.

Remember the year when we grabbed all of Dangerfield, Henderson, Selwood and Smith and most people said we couldn't get it done?So potentially Geelong is looking at Hopper, Smith, and Ablett coming into the side for 2018. If they can pull that off with the commodities they have I will be awestruck.
Me also.
Only way I see it happening is Carlton's 2nd we got in the Touhy deal, Motlop compo, and then our 2018 first?
EDIT: That's for Smith and Hopper, god knows how the Ablett trade will unfold.
EDIT EDIT: accidental pun re Ablett and god knows.
Certainly not saying it won't happen. I'll just be in awe of the club if they manage to pull it together. It will be truly incredible, especially considering the last couple of trade periods.Remember the year when we grabbed all of Dangerfield, Henderson, Selwood and Smith and most people said we couldn't get it done?
Ablett for a late pick.
Hopper for Carlton's second round pick.
Smith for next years first round pick.
But its a twofold problem - not only what they will have to give up but also how they can possible manage the cap. Motlop has to go - but no idea what he would be on. $450 k reasonable? Maybe Menzel goes too? I can't imagine Lonergan and Mackie would be on all that much?
Ablett for Kolodjashnij I'd have thoughtRemember the year when we grabbed all of Dangerfield, Henderson, Selwood and Smith and most people said we couldn't get it done?

No way in hell geelong would do that.Ablett for Kolodjashnij I'd have thought
Kolodjashnij is about to re-sign and we're not about to exchange a promising young defender for a player who has shoulder issues and who has 2 years left in the game.Ablett for Kolodjashnij I'd have thought
How do you get him without giving up a first, though? Surely you have to use your 2018 1st, considering you haven't had one the past 3 years

Ablett is coming for $400,000 a year and for Gold Coast it gets his wage off their books and frees up more cash to give to May and Lynch who are their #1 priorities.
It'll be a 4th or 5th round pick that Gold Coast are unlikely to use.
No one pays it. Ablett asks to be traded and the contract gets torn up.Just out of curiosity. Who pays the remainder of the Ablett GC contract? Can GC wipe out the whole $1million+ if they trade him to Geelong. Just the difference between his GC contract and what his new contract at Geelong is.Who absorbs the balance?
Is the contract just voided? I'm not sure.
I remember reading something about Buddy's contract at Sydney with the afl saying the contract will remain on their books for the duration even if Buddy retired earlier than the contract terms. Will this be similar?

Ablett than signs a new contract with Geelong and loses a lot of money, but gets to go home.
